The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre is running a free exercise program (CHANGE) for individuals with metabolic syndrome. This is a great program and will be overseen by a Kinesiologist. Due to financial pressures related to COVID-19, Kinesiology PEI will be waiving the first year of provincial membership fees ($55.00) for all new Affiliated Kinesiologists who join Kinesiology PEI prior to August 1, 2020. To participate in the program, please register for a Kinesiology PEI membership through the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance website (www.cka.ca) and pay the required fees. Once this process is complete, simply email your membership receipt to [email protected] before August 1st, 2020 to receive your reimbursement. On March 28, Physiotherapist Corena Hughes will be leading a 2 hour session on pelvic floor health for Kinesiologists, other exercise professionals and Registered Massage Therapists at Holland College. The session will include 1 hour of lecture, followed by 1 hour of practical training. Registration is first-come, first-served, with a limit of 20 attendees (8 participant minimum). This session is eligible for 2 Fitness NB CEUs, and Category A CEUs from the PEI Massage Thera...py Association. Where: Holland College Prince of Wales Campus @ 140 Weymouth Street, Charlottetown. (Use the Kent Street door entrance). When: Saturday, March 28 - 10:00am-Noon Who: Kinesiologists, other exercise professionals (personal trainers, group fitness instructors, etc) and Registered Massage Therapists.
