We are happy to introduce the newest addition to the Kinetic Labs team, Amy Tanaka! Amy is a Registered Massage Therapist with experience treating a variety of issues. She is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care to each of her patients Read her full bio below and click here: https://bit.ly/39NMudo to book a session! ... As a child, Amy used to stand on the back of her parents’ chairs and massage them just for fun, and today Amy is a Registered Massage Therapist who takes pride in her thorough and compassionate approach to treatment. Amy’s main goal in her career is to help people improve their quality of life and ensure that her patients live comfortably. Amy was always intrigued by injury recovery and how physical activity made her feel, playing competitive soccer for 11 years. She got her first gym membership when she was 14 years old, which heightened her fascination of anatomy, body mechanics, and fitness. This interest led her to the Physical and Health Education program at Queen’s University where she graduated with honours in 2018. She was quick to attend Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy, completing the advanced standing program in 2019. Amy is committed to providing exceptional care by conducting full body assessments so she can develop an objective image of her patient’s presentation. This assessment involves questions about lifestyle, health history, mental health, and wellness goals so she can contribute to her patients’ full spectrum of health. Amy has detailed experience treating chronic pain and stress, TMJ dysfunction, tendonitis, acute injuries, headaches, and multiple sclerosis, with a particular interest in pre/post-natal treatment and care. Amy uses a variety of techniques and modalities such as fascial stretching, deep tissue massage, lymph drainage, muscle energy techniques, and joint mobilizations. Amy is always eager to learn more and attends workshops to constantly expand her practice, and will go above and beyond to do additional research so she can provide effective and personalized treatments. When she’s not in clinic, Amy likes to spend her free time pursuing creative ideas or enjoying the outdoors.
