Did you know The recommended dose of physical activity for adults aged 18-64 is at least 150 minutes/week . . When we really think about it... that’s only 2.5 hours out of an entire week that has 168 hours in it! I know, I know... we’re sleeping and dreaming sweet, sweet dreams during some of those hours but I think you guys get the point! .... . I think we can all agree, especially during these abnormal times, that we consider health important. Not just our own health, but the health of our neighbours, friends, family and people that we don’t even know! Now is a great time for us to evaluate what is truly important and take steps toward healthier habits . . Regular physical activity can improve our overall sense of health and well-being and contribute to increased self-esteem and energy levels. It is a great way to help reduce stress and contribute to positive physical and mental health. Physical activity is an excellent way to be proactive about your health and we can start this all with just simply walking . . Is 150 minutes per week just still too much right now? That’s okay! For those who are normally less physically active, even doing amounts under the recommended levels can still provide some health benefits. It is totally okay to start small. So do what you can, just get started and gradually work your way up. Everyone is different and we need not to compare ourselves to others, we all have to start somewhere! . . Take a minute today to reach out to someone to let them know that you care about them, and then lets care for ourselves and get moving! http://csep.ca//Guidelin/CSEP_PAGuidelines_0-65plus_en.pdf @ Kinetic Solutions Physiotherapy & Performance

The New Brunswick Physiotherapy Association is aware of concerns regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The NBPA and the CPA is committed to supporting ph...ysiotherapists, patients, and public health efforts, as well as providing reliable information to support sound decision-making. We encourage NBPA members to monitor the situation ongoing and remain vigilant in staying up to date with reliable and evidence-based sources. The WHO has declared that the COVID-19 outbreak can be characterized as a pandemic. The Public Health Agency of Canada provides regular updates on: * the current situation, including the number of confirmed cases in Canada, * the risk to the Canadian Population, and * how Canada is monitoring the spread of cases. The NBPA stresses the importance of Member Physiotherapists and Member Clinics working together to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19, and therefore it is our position that all member clinics should consider, for the safety of Physiotherapists and Patients, suspending Private Physiotherapy Clinic operations effective March 17, 2020. Members are advised to postpone all appointments and allow for rescheduling as needed. We understand that there may be some very urgent appointments, and ask that you evaluate these cases and to treat accordingly. In the case of our members working in Public Health Settings, we advise that you follow the direction of your public workplace and follow appropriate Public Health Canada policies and guidelines. We understand that these are very challenging times, and we need to support each other during this time. As always, we are available to members. Please feel free to email us at anytime with any questions or feedback you may have. Based on recommendations from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the New Brunswick Physiotherapy association, in an effort to do our part for social distancing, KS Physio will be shutting down for two weeks effective immediately. We understand that these are stressful times and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding throughout. The health and well being of our clients and staff is always our top priority, and at this time this is what we have to do. As ...there are large numbers of people who need to be individually contacted to reschedule appointments, we kindly ask for your patience - this is quite time consuming and creates a lot more work for our front end staff on top of all of their day-to-day duties. We will do the best we can to promptly contact each client to ensure you are rescheduled. These are times that shed light on what is truly important in life, so lets all work together - show love, show kindness, show compassion and support - although we can't physically be together during these times, we can all come together and do our part We are currently rescheduling for March 31/2020 and onward - we will update with any new information that we receive throughout this time. Please share to help us inform the community.

My name is Alex, but you may hear people call me Al, Owl, Alsy, or even the rare Alexander (this one usually only by my mom or gram ). I’m a physiotherapist and the owner/operator of Kinetic Solutions Physiotherapy. I moved back to my home town and partnered with Salisbury Chiro and Rehab to open this physiotherapy business. I couldn’t be more excited to be serving the surrounding community. . . I love meeting people, I love helping people. This job allows me to do both. .... . I wear party shirts on Thursdays. I treat people as people, not conditions. And I could have posted this picture with my degrees on the wall but I think these lamas are cooler. . . At @ksphysio_ we offer a clean, professional environment with a friendly twist, we are all human and should be able to have some fun while receiving quality care. We’ve created this Instagram account to educate and inform on basic health and lifestyle related to physiotherapy, and to have a little fun on the side. So if you’d like to follow along we’d love to have you! @ksphysio_ See more

We know that walking, running, and other activities that get our heart rate up can be beneficial for our health. But so is picking things up and putting them back down (aka resistance training) . . . Resistance training doesn’t mean you are going to get big bulky muscles, it’s actually just a great way to challenge our body to improve and achieve further health benefitsWorking major muscle groups like legs, arms, chest and back 2-3x weekly can be a great way to improve you...r overall health and well-being . . . The most important thing to understand is that everyone is different and it is totally okay to start wherever YOU feel comfortable - we can always work our way up! See more

Mel and I got out to Cape Tryon Lighthouse the other night for the sunset.
