King City Lions Club

King City Lions delivered 45 lasagna dinners to the health care workers at King City Lodge on February 11th, thanking them for all the work they do for the residents of the lodge. The lions also delivered chocolates for the residents for a valentine's day treat along with Valentine Day cards for the residents made by three young people who are neighbours of Lion Claude Holmes and his wife Jayme. Thank you, Tess, Gemma and Emma, for taking the time to brighten the resident's day.

Kudos to King City Lions Club for all their donations recently given to 360 Kids York Region which is a charity assisting at risk and homeless youth ($500), Camp Oooch which is a privately funded charity that brings laughter and joy to kids and families affected by childhood cancer ($500) and the King Township Foodbank $(1000) from the monies received through our participation with RHHCA. King City Lions also donated to the Bob Rumball Foundation for the blind ($1000), Lio...ns Quest that promotes social and emotional development for students from kindergarten to grade 12 $(300), and Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket ($ 300) from other funds. We Serve is our motto as Lions. Covid , virtual meetings , online contacts itdoes not matter we gat things done. King City Lions fourth set of meals! Thank you to Lion Brian and Lion Maud Featherstone for picking up 45 (11vegetarian)prepared Christmas turkey meals delivered to the staff at King City Lodge nursing home on December 17th.The staff were once again very pleased, and grateful for the donation of the meals, and extended a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of the King City Lions that have been working very hard through the COVID-19 pandemic keeping everyone as safe as possible. King... City Lions are able to provide these meals and donations to the Lodge as well as the King City Food Bank and other groups through our participation in the Richmond Hill Hall Charities Association at Bingo World in Richmond Hill. A portion of all funds raised at Bingo World are given out to people in need in the community by the many organizations participating in this association. See more

King City Lions boost dog guide program The King City Lions hosted their 2nd annual Roast Beef Dinner on February 15th,2020 in support of the Lions Foundation if Canada Dog Guides. Ambassador Beverly Berger and her Dod Guide Lotus were in attendance to accept a $6,000 donation on behalf of the foundation, while an additional $ 2,500 was raised for Dog Guides through the night’s silent auction. Guests at the $25 a plate dinner enjoyed musical entertainment from violinist Ayse Taghi-Zada and cellist Brenton Chan.
