Don't forget to include these friends as you begin to see your friends when school returns. Here is to a safe and healthy return to school to everyone, how ever that will look for your families!!!
That time of year is coming quickly, back to school!! Although returning to school may be different than other years, it is still important to make sure you are returning with your best smile forward. Give us a call to schedule your back to school check up.
As some of you may be aware, last week the WHO made a statement pertaining to dental treatment. We have attached a link to the Canadian Dental Association's page to help clarify this statement. The statement to avoid dental treatment was directed at countries and cities that are still in Stage 1 or are still experiencing a steep increase in COVID-19 cases. We are always monitoring the situation in our area closely and have implemented the necessary infection control procedures to keep our patients and staff safe and healthy. At this time are still able to safely provide all dental services. If you have any questions, never hesitate to contact us. https://www.cda-adc.ca//stat/who_clarification/default.asp

Give us a call to schedule your Hygiene Maintenance appointment to have your smile summer ready. Everyone keep on smiling through this heat!!
Have a Happy Canada Day Everyone!!
Life has been anything but normal this spring and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are happy to inform you that we are now able to provide dental care once again. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and to keep us all protected du...ring this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different. We will ask some screening questions before your appointment and you will be asked those same questions again when you’re in the office. Your temperature will also be taken before admittance into the office. You will be asked to wait outside our office or in your car and call us when you arrive, then wait for a call back to let you know when you can enter the office. You will only be allowed to enter the office when the operator and operatory are prepared. Only the patient will be admitted into the office unless ONE parent is escorting a child, or someone needs to escort a patient requiring extra help. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There are more dispensers around the office for you to use as needed. You will be asked to wear a mask to the office and to remain wearing it until we are ready to proceed with treatment, and then to wear the mask when exiting the office. Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect. Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time. You may be surprised that we are wearing more protective gear such as masks, face shields and gowns than we normally do during your visit. Expect that your appointment will be longer than usual as we get used to these new protocols, Personal Protective Equipment, and routines. Hygienists will only be hand scaling for an undetermined amount of time in order to reduce the aerosols produced by the cavitrons.. Rest assured, all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team. We look forward to seeing you again. If you have any questions, please let us know. To make an appointment, call our office at 519-649-7228 or email us at [email protected]. Thank you for patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back! Sincerely, The Team at King Edward Dentistry See more
We are getting excited to see everyone!!! Public Health and the Royal College of Dentists are starting to give us some new information to help us prepare to open the doors once again. We can't wait for you to see the changes implemented to help keep everyone safe as we adjust to the new "normal" that we will be living in.

As the health and well-being of our patients and staff are paramount to us, we are currently closing for regular business hours until the end of May All non-emergency dental appointments will be rescheduled to help decrease the potential exposure and spread of the COVID-19 virus as per the recommendations of our Regulatory Body. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause everyone but ask for your patience and understanding during this time. We can still be reach...ed at the office if you have questions or concerns by phone or email, messages will be checked regularly and returned promptly. If you have a true Dental Emergency, please call the office directly. Thank you again for your co-operation, Dr. Mireya, Dr. Karin and the staff at King Edward Dentistry
We hope that everyone has a Happy Easter Weekend this weekend. It may be different than you are used to but it can still be fun.

It is with very heavy hearts that we have to say good-bye to one of our own. Today one of our Dental Assistants was laid to rest way to early, her young and bright life ended way too early. You are gone but will never be forgotten by your family and friends, dental or otherwise. https://lfpress.remembering.ca/obit/renee-furler-1078811228
Happy Dental Assistant Appreciation week to our wonderful assistants! Thank you for all of your hard work and for always going above and beyond not only for our patients but for everyone that is part of our team.
Here we grow again!!! Dr. Diaz and Dr. Van Ryswyk are looking to add a positive, energetic, dependable and outgoing CDA II to our busy family oriented dental team. Selected candidate must have an understanding of current IPAC guidelines, current ODAA registration and have experience with digital charting and imaging. Experience with Cleardent is also beneficial. This is a full-time position, some evenings are required.

Effect of vaping on oral healthaccording to the latest research findings at Laval University, chemicals from vaping can cause irreversible damage to teeth in...cluding gum recession, tissue loss & significant staining, and can delay wound healing in the mouth. Vaping is too new to know the long-term effect, but scientists say it will take the heaviest toll on young people.
