We’re ready for some pow pow!!!
A week ago a very rare and special event occurred in #lakelouise. We had some cold temperatures and the lake froze over very early in the season, allowing some ...adventurous souls to embrace the spirit of winter on one of the most scenic skating rinks in the world. Skating across the lake this early in the season has only been possible five times in the last 30 years. Doesn’t it look like glass? Escape to our winter wonderland: http://bit.ly/2Vd7nXi *Please note we have had some snow since then. Please check with the concierge for current conditions. : @victor.jutr #secretseason
Winter carnivals have a long history in Banff. Take a step back in time to see some of the events that used to happen in 1917-1930. Then be sure to check out SnowDays, happening around Banff now until January 27 http://tobmaps.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html

Good Morning Sunshiners!!! We’re waking up to another 5 cm of Canada’s Best Snow! Who’s hungry for some fresh turns???
Most of the Peyto Lake area has reopened for the winter! Work will resume in spring 2020. The no-stopping zone has been lifted and the lower parking lot... and restroom are open. The Peyto Lake viewing platform remains closed. Snowshoeing and hiking to the viewpoint will not be available this winter. Thank you to everyone who changed their plans to allow crews to safely begin improvements. Your efforts are appreciated! Ski touring in the area? Get out there and have a good time! As always, carry a beacon, probe and shovel and have appropriate avalanche training. Avalanche Bulletin http://ow.ly/CTiL50xbwvS
Did someone say fresh turns? (: @nasa_astronaut)
