It was a wonderful virtual membership meeting last night! We are so grateful for technology that allows us to continue to meet safely. If you missed it, it was a wonderful hour of seeing how God continues to bless and protect our school community. It was also an opportunity to meet and hear from all 27 of our staff here at KCS. With great enthusiasm, our community filled 117 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We exceeded our goal of 100 boxes. Thanks for sharing the hope and joy we already know from belonging to Christ with children around the world living in desperate situations. Our Grade 5 students helped load the boxes this morning so they could be delivered. Special thanks to Carolyn Semeniuk for planning and organizing this campaign. We are also very grateful to Shannon & Rob Marques for taking time out of their busy day to deliver our boxes. With winter upon us the classes are calling on your help to re-stock their recess bins with some outdoor winter toys. If you can check out your sheds, garages or local stores we are looking for shovels, snow brick makers, snow ball makers, snowman kits, and anything else you can find. Please either drop off at the office or send with your child to school to give to their teacher! We would appreciate your support as we fill those bins up with some winter toys!

From the Principal’s Desk: From a young age, I have often imagined Jesus walking beside me. This often gave me confidence as I encountered difficult situations. However, in recent years I have also come to deeply understand that not only does Jesus make the journey alongside me, He also goes before me. This has become essential in my relationship with God as I know that He is making a way for me.... As we continue to face unpredictable and uncertain times, we have the assurance that God leads the way. He already knows what lays ahead and the outcomes of my trials. He leads us to space where we need to trust Him to navigate the road ahead and lean on the truth that He will never leave us. There are times when I may not feel God’s presence, however, I know His consistent character of faithfulness as I spend time in His Word and prayer. He reminds us of the countless promises that God provides His assurances and provision for the present and future. I am thankful that as a community we are memorizing Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. This verse encourages us that when we face each day uncertain of what lays ahead, may we courageously step into the unknown. Praise God that it is not unknown to Him. He is already there.

The Joy School classes warmed up today with some of their very own apple sauce. They have been studying apples this week and today they tried 3 different kinds of apples as well as made their very own crockpot apple sauce to try! Today is World Teachers Day and we could not pass up the opportunity to celebrate the amazing teachers our school community has been blessed with. These three woman have been the backbone of the KCS community. Their level of commitment to this community has gone far above! They may be the ones who greet your children upon their arrival at school, help them when they are hurt, check in with families during tough times and so much more!
