Here are some pictures from a job in Red Deer. The scope of work was to rip up old tile and replace it with new tile. Simple, right? Wrong. Ran into issues with the old subfloor that wasn’t installed properly or suitable for tile (which is why the old floor cracked and fell apart). So we tore the 1/4 plywood up, and discovered black felt underlay left behind and covered with the old subfloor, to be safe we had to get it tested for asbestos. The test came back negative so we were able to proceed to prep the floor by scraping, sanding, and pruning! Then the ditra-mat got installed and we are finally ready for tile!
