The woods are constantly changing... the trilliums are gone and now new flowers are emerging. This is wild red columbine - a favourite of hummingbirds and butterflies!

The herons have returned to the bay! We hope you're able to soak in the beauty and find signs of new life and hope wherever you may be

Dear Friends of Kingfisher Bay Retreat, The ice is slowly melting on the bay in front of the lodge but it is certainly not an ordinary Spring day. We truly hope and pray that you are finding peace and moments of joy in the midst of these strange times. We would like you to know our thoughts and plans, as much as they are all in a state of flux. As you likely already know, we are closed to the public for now. We will monitor the situation and open when it is safe for our fami...lies and for you, our guests. As we cannot know when that is we will hold all reservations tentatively and will take it a month at a time. We understand that everyone is in the same boat. We encourage you to wait with us and see how it goes. We will do our best to reschedule retreats that are missed whenever possible. Should that not be possible we will not keep any deposits for cancelations that are due to the COVID-19 outbreak closures. If we cannot reschedule your retreat or if you would prefer a refund please let us know. We will be refunding deposits one month at a time prior to scheduled retreats (so as long as we are closed to the public our 3 month cancellation deadline will not be in effect). Our May enneagram retreat is postponed and we will let you know of a new date for that in the near future. Thank you all for your patience. Know that your presence here is felt even as we cannot meet face to face. I am personally challenged to take this time as an invitation to listen, to connect more deeply with my family and to be present and open to the gifts that may present themselves. I do not deny the stress that we all feel not knowing the end date or the ramifications of this time. I am incredibly thankful for trees, the fresh air, the water appearing on the lake and the miracle of Spring all around. I do hope that you are also finding places to enjoy Creation, to be refreshed and that your loved ones are well. This time has highlighted both the vulnerability and connection that we share with all in our world. May we remember those who are affected much more than us at this time and find creative ways to help each other and those in our communities who are in need. Please do reach out if there is anything that I personally, or our Kingfisher family, can do to support you in this time. We may be in isolation but we are certainly not alone. I am happy to ‘meet’ over a phone or video chat and I cannot wait until we can share our space with you again. We’d love to hear your stories and reflections during this time. What truths are coming to light for you in this time? What does it mean to be in this together? As Desmond Tutu said, Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. We look forward to staying connected.
