Yesterday I was the victim of a crime. Someone stole the generator, a significant investment and the only source of power for my business. I decided to reconfigure the welding side of the shop and sell the stationary welders I have to purchase a welder generator. Took pictures, posted on kijiji and was pleasantly surprised to get two immediate responses. Shannel Smith, purportedly from B.C., wants to buy the bigger welder for her husband but has just moved across country. If ... I give her my PayPal info she will pay me then arrange for a mover to pick up the welder. Weird, but hey its a strange world. Not 10 minutes later Morency Oscar also expresses interest. Morency unfortunately is on the East Coast but if I give him my paypal info he will gladly send a mover to pick up the unit. So in trying to raise funds to get the business back on track in response to one criminal I have put myself squarely in the sights of more criminals. I lost faith in most people when I left Social Work as a career, but I am prepared to fight for a world that is not one large feeding frenzy of laziness wrapped up in criminality. Blacksmiths have good, albeit direct, ways of solving difficult problems. Usually it involves a hammer.

Taking a leap of faith? Facebook and Kijiji ads aren't generating as much business as I would like. Thinking of running a TTC ad. Its a big jump in advertising costs, anyone with an opinion on wether its worth it?

Why I call container #1 of the shop "Das Boot"...after the crazy process of loading the behemoth anvil in the rental van, Jason Wickware kept up a running litany of numbers every time we accelerated, decelerated or made a turn. Finally he confessed that this was from the movie Das Boot when the poor sailor was counting out the decreasing depth to implosion. Wasn't at all concerned until he said that.

The Horror, the horror! Just when I thought it was safe, the long arm of the TSSA reaches out. Forge needs an annual inspection at $575 a pop to keep on the up and up.

Order of operations. Sometimes hypomania gives you the energy to get lots done, without the focus to follow a logical order of operations. Not sure what to use for paint, thinking of trying some slumped glass.
