In the past month I have received 35 speaking requests and booked over $40,000 in gigs. Next week I am off to Australia for my third tour in less than 12... months, and then in November I will be speaking in Beirut, Lebanon for the first (and second) time. Want to know how you can do it too? I share all of this because you too have the opportunity to get paid to speak and share your message with the world. From my first gig in front of 2,300 people at TEDxBoulder to now, the reason why I am able to travel and get paid to speak is because I do a few key things right. For instance, the only change I've made over the past two months that has dramatically boosted my inbound requests is posting regularly on LinkedIn - thanks Brittany Hoffman! Now simply posting on LinkedIn won't guarantee you success, but doing so with the foundation I have built over the years certainly will help. {More on that in a second..) I'm fortunate that as I've been growing my speaking business the past few years, I've had fellow speakers like Adam Smiley Poswolsky to share tips and strategies with, which is why today I'm so excited to share that Smiley has released his new book on the subject! Introducing... The Breakthrough Speaker: How to Build a Public Speaking Business by Adam Poswolsky. {Grab your copy on Amazon!} I'm featured in the book a few times sharing what I've learned over the years to help you become a successful speaker yourself. Being featured in Smiley's book has been a true honor of mine. Not only is Smiley brilliant, but he's also one of the most caring, genuine people I know. I'm truly grateful to call him a friend. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, from blanking out on stage in front of 2,300 people at TEDxBoulder to traveling internationally sharing my dream with the world, I couldn't have done it (nor continue to do it), without all of the people (YOU) who have supported me on my journey, including my homie Smiley. I hope you'll pick up his book and start sharing your message on stage with the world. :)

MY NEW BOOK LAUNCHES TODAY! TL;DR: Buy the book, share the book, write an Amazon review! I am so excited to share this book with the world.... THE BREAKTHROUGH SPEAKER is a practical and groundbreaking guide for a new generation to break into public speaking and shake up the speaking circuit. The lessons in this book will help both new and experienced speakers, as well as entrepreneurs, creatives, and influencers who want to gain exposure, build their personal brand, and make a greater impact. This book was rejected by publishers. They told me it was too niche. They told me there wasn't an audience for it. They told me there weren't enough new voices interested in public speaking. This book is for everyone out there who is proving them wrong. This book is for YOU. *The intention of this book is to create opportunities and assets for new voices in public speaking. 100 percent of the profits from sales of the book after expenses will go toward supporting efforts of The Women Speaker Initiative.* **PLEASE SHARE with friends, public speakers, storytellers, facilitators, leaders, and everyone out there who is already on stage or should be. Thank you for supporting my work!** ***Sending deep gratitude to everyone who worked on this book and the amazing Breakthrough Speakers who shared their story + wisdom with me, and made this project possible (there are way too people many to tag, but here are a few): Sumeet Banerji Caroline Kessler Samantha Russo Debbie Sterling Minda Harts Robin Starbuck Farmanfarmaian Ashanti Branch Hana Nobel Erika Barraza Dawn Jewél Fraser Cloe Shasha Julie Lythcott-Haims Chelsea Rustrum Cam Adair Kat Alexander Jeff Kirschner Tristan Harris Amy Lazarus Justin Rosenstein Lisa Lee Lauren Alexandra Burke Tiffany Yu Nikita T. 90 Days No Coffee A few weeks ago I finished 90 days of no coffee and I wanted to share a few thoughts about my experience on here. When I asked myself what ...scared me the most to give up for 90 days (inspired by Preston Smiles) coffee was the clear answer. Since I was a teenager I had gone maybe 3 days without coffee, and that was after attending a Tony Robbins seminar back in 2014, so I decided to do this as a commitment to my personal growth and being "ALL-IN" on my life. It certainly wasn't easy. Coffee is my one true love. It's always been there for me and when I was younger and I would have panic attacks coffee is the thing that would calm me down. I always said I wouldn't give up coffee because when I'm on my deathbed I'm not going to be laying there regretting all the coffee I drank. It will do the opposite - put a smile on my face. Anyways, immediately the first few days were really tough. The thing I learned the most was how much I was using coffee as a mood regulator. It was my pick-me-up. Initially I replaced coffee with tea but missed the texture so I went to almond milk chai lattes. I wasn't cutting out all caffeine but moving to tea (even black tea) was better than coffee. And more expensive. I focused one day at a time. On day 6 I caught myself rationalizing my "relapse" and negotiating terms with myself. "This is fucking pointless." "Why would I remove something I love?" "Coffee isn't even bad for me." "90 days is too long." "I'm just spending MORE money.." I even tried to make a deal with myself that if I went back on coffee I would commit to meditating twice a day. But then I said if I really wanted to meditate twice a day I can do it without going back on coffee. Lol. The key was reminding myself of why I was doing what I was doing. For me, reaching 90 days was the only option. It was the only way I could fulfill my commitment to myself. Emotions were coming up as I expected, but I was not going to give in no matter what. Yes, all of this over coffee. I had a lot of ups and downs but... one day at a time. Around day 12 I was over it all. I felt "fine" but I really just wanted to go back and drink coffee. It all felt like a punishment and I started to see how long this whole process was really going to be. Instead I focused on just embracing the process and not thinking about it too much. I knew this was powerful for me even if challenging, and in fact, the challenge was just validation of why I needed to do it in the first place. After about a month I noticed my energy levels were a bit better and my focus was good too. When I woke up in the morning I didn't immediately have withdrawal symptoms that screamed at me to get out of the house and get coffee in my blood immediately. I was much more relaxed upon waking up. Day 90 hit and I was so happy to be done. I always planned to go back on coffee but to use this process as a reset. To learn more about my relationship with it, and to see how it would change in the future. It's been just over a month now since I've gone back on coffee and I can say it's been different than before. I have a coffee in the morning still but usually only finish half of it and I have only had coffee twice in a day one or two times max. I never crave it multiple times a day, whereas before I would have two cups usually for sure. Anyways, that's a bit about my journey. What scares you the most to give up for 90 days? Share yours in the comments.
