A post to brighten this dreary Monday afternoon - a big thank you to the entire community for making this year's Coat Drive a huge success. In just over 2 weeks..., over 1,000 coats were collected! Thank you so much to all who participated, donated coats, arranged workplace collections and thanks to the volunteers who picked up from donation sites and sorted the coats. Special thanks to Lionhearts Inc. for the space to sort and store and to Kingston Frontenac Public Library, City of Kingston - Municipal Government, Kingston Community Health Centres and Morning Star for being collection sites. Last night's dinner was chicken pasta, vegetarian lasagna, Ceasar salad, and buns with ice cream sandwiches with homemade cookies! Thank you once again to the wonderful Friday Supper Club for their generosity! #ygk

These generous young ladies, Emily and Hannah Burns, donated $111 to the Kingston Youth Shelter. With the help of their mother, Ashley Burns from Loving Spoonful, they created a community newsletter filled with profiles on neighbours, recipes, and comics to raise money for us. What a wonderful way to stay connected with your neighbours and give back to those in need. Thank you so much!
