Some recent pieces I acquired tonight.
Excited to have picked all these up tonight. Really excited about the BASS & FELLS / PRESTON and the HF WHITHAM / BRANTFORD with PC FOY / TORONTO embossed on the base. Was this an error? Were they distributors for each others product? Just thought it was interesting to see two different merchants embossed on one bottle. Some local pieces recently acquired.
I will be turning this page into a sales page. Look for some very interesting piece to be listed in the next few weeks.
Some nice jars. Early No Dot crown, with matching no dot lid. This one is very whittled and tons o bubbles. G2 on the base. Obviously an early Hamilton Glassworks piece. A tough to find humpback Beaver 1/2 gallon in bright beautiful blue colour. Very crude mouth on this jar, with deep sloping collar.... A nice lime green Beaver quart too. Very crude looking jar in a not so common colour. Nice early Dr SN THOMAS from Toronto in a deep blue colour. Also a North American Glass Co crown lid too.
Some of my Picton Pottery pieces from across the region.
A last minute, late night, pick turned out well. What a sad looking beaver and maple leaf on this early Sleeman's beer. Lighter colour than normal and nice and clean, damage free.
After talking with our local Health Unit, to gain a better understanding of the requirements and risks of running our show this year, I regret to inform you the Bottle and Insulator show scheduled for September 26, 2020 in Bath Ontario is being CANCELLED. As the sole Administrator of this show, the health risk far outweighed the gains; and the safety precautions required to make our show safe and successful was just not going to be achievable. "ON WITH THE SHOW". We are in the process of planning our 2021 show and encourage you to continue to watch this site for updates as they occur. Thank you for your understanding and support and please keep hunting for all those glass gems.
Some new additions to the herd.
They're out of the bath. I have owned lots of SB Brookfield ponies but this is my first in olive green colour. Seen lots of dark aqua and yellow green, but not seen this colour too often. The others Hemingray's cleaned up nice too. I like the hybrid date embossing.
Some early 1850-1860s coloured medicine bottles. FROM THE LABORATORY OF GW MERCHANT FROM LOCKPORT NY
Some great Canadian glass. Early Kingston beverage bottlers, and some telegraph history.
Some nice shades of green ponies, and not the common dark olive green. Also received this CD143 CanPac [070] in light aqua colour, with nice carbon swirls and a Canadian Pacific "kiss" on the dome where it was hit by another piece while still soft and cooling.
