Th...is is the most amount of energy I’ve ever poured into anything in my life. I put all that energy into it - because I REALLY believe in what this film is saying. Especially right now in our country. And besides what it’s saying it also has Laughter! Tears! And ALL the feels! I urge you with all my heart... Mama-We (which is the phonetic spelling of the Cree word for together), is the name of a mothers-mentors program developed by I Love First Peoples Kingston, in ...collaboration with Queen's University, and primary caregivers and community leaders from the community in which Mama-We is being delivered, Moose Cree First Nation in Ontario. Young mothers, serving as Mama-We mentors in their communities, have been spending the week at Queen’s. On Monday and Tuesday they were at Agnes touring the exhibition "Soundings: An Exhibition in Five Parts," learning about works in our collection and gaining skills in two Studio workshops. The workshops were led by art therapists and focussed on art as therapy exercises that integrate both traditional and contemporary ways of knowing.
