Everyone meet Babble! He was brought to us by a concerned citizen who found him outside with an injured leg. The Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington Animal Centre... agreed to take Babble and help him receive the care he needed. Thanks to the Urgent Animal Care Fund, they were able to pay for his leg amputation. Dr Mark De Wolde performed the surgery at a reduced fee but it is still an expensive one to perform. This weekend, much of Ontario has entered stage 3 of the Covid-19 re-opening plan. After much consideration, we have elected to continue with our safety protocols for the time being and our closed door policy will remain in effect for all of our hospitals. Our priority remains the health and wellbeing of our patients, our clients, our employees and our community. To our dear clients, Seeing as the city of Kingston has recently mandated the wear of masks in public areas, we thought we would clarify our expectations for our hospitals in Kingston and Napanee, ON. With our closed door policy still in effect, some of our interactions with our clients are outside in the parking lot while others are through your vehicle window as you remain in your car. We ask that you wear a mask when our employees approach for your protection as well as ou...r employees'. We also understand the temptation to leave the premises while we are assessing your pet(s) or attending to other matters on your phones, but we must remind you how important it is for us to be able to reach you promptly to ask questions, clarify information or go over medical recommendations. May 19 2020- Covid-19 Update! To our dear clients, Last week, the Ontario government announced the lifting of the emergency-only directives pertaining to veterinary services. This means we are now able to provide all of our services for your beloved pets. At Upper Canada Veterinary Group, we continue to prioritize the safety of our patients, clients, employees and community. With this in mind, we will continue our pet only policy and will not be opening our hospitals to the... public for the time being. Our family, Mark (Dr de Wolde), myself and our 2 sons, faced a pediatric Cancer scare in the Fall of 2018. Our sons mass was benign. Thank God we get to love him every day knowing what it is like to fear we may lose him. This looks like a great event. Please share, share share....
