We have been in a pandemic for one year. And there are over 7,000 Ontarians who are no longer with us to reflect on this milestone. We must keep fighting for th...e safety and wellbeing of everyone in Ontario, thank you for being a part of that fight. May next year's anniversary reflect a more just Ontario.

The pandemic has been tough - especially for students. It has changed so much of their lives, from the way they are learning to the way they are entering the wo...rkforce. This past week, I met with students from across the country. The meeting reaffirmed what the NDP and the Canadian Federation of Students - Fédération canadienne des étudiant.e.s have been calling on the Liberal government to do: - Impose a moratorium on paying back student loans; and - Immediately invest in greater mental health supports for young people. It's a pandemic, young people need more support from this Liberal government, not less. La pandémie a été difficile, surtout pour les étudiantes. Elle a changé une grande partie de leur vie, de leur façon d'apprendre à celle d’entrer dans la vie professionnelle active. Hier, j’ai rencontré des étudiantes de partout au pays. Cette rencontre a permis de réaffirmer les demandes que le NPD et la FCÉÉ ont présentées au gouvernement: - Suspendre le remboursement des prêts aux étudiants; - Investir immédiatement dans un soutien accru dans les services de santé mentale dédiés aux jeunes. Les jeunes ont besoin de plus de soutien de la part de ce gouvernement libéral, pas moins.

We can take action right now to give people the help they need to make it through COVID, and give hope this lockdown could be our last. This week, New Democrats... will push for a package of nine solutions to help families, working folks, small businesses, seniors and vulnerable people. 1. Give people paid sick days 2. Bring in a real evictions ban 3. Give seniors in long-term care four hours of hands-on care per day 4. Give essential caregivers the right to help their loved ones in care homes 5. Create a Seniors’ Advocate 6. Give PSWs all a raise 7. Save small businesses 8. Make schools safe for children, teachers and education workers 9. Guarantee an equity strategy, from pandemic response to vaccines
