Happy 100th!! April 1, 2021 marked the 100th anniversary of Rotary in Kingston and the official launch of another century of Service Above Self. Thank you to Ch...ris Fountas & Kevin Montroy for donating the space and plaque to commemorate this grand occasion. https://youtu.be/-lAg0YhMEdA Rotary brings together men and women from diverse backgrounds who are inspired to take action and make a difference. Rotarians strive to empower youth, improve health and well-being, and promote peace and sustainability. Since the first meetings at the former Frontenac Hotel, Kingston Rotarians have supported our most vulnerable citizens. Today, nearly 200 Kingston Rotarians work with local organizations and partners to address community needs through service projects and program funding. This milestone year includes new projects to support students and new Canadians, improve our environment, and facilitate healthy eating. Rotary wouldn’t be Rotary in Kingston without the incredible support of area residents and businesses. Thank you! 100 years of Rotary in Kingston - let’s celebrate together! See more

Rotary in Kingston has a long tradition of supporting international projects, partnering with host clubs in developing countries around the world to address loc...al needs based on the seven areas of focus. We have helped build schools, provide clean and safe drinking water, offer scholarships, improve food security, foster economic development, and contribute to countless other initiatives. Money can go so much farther in these areas; small amounts can make a big difference to the lives of the disadvantaged. These photos show the results of some of our latest collaborations. And, of course, we always support RI’s signature project, the eradication of Polio worldwide. Making the world a better place is what Rotary is all about. Kingston Rotarians have jumped into action as screeners and ushers at KFL&A Public Health’s Mass Immunization Clinic at the Invista Centre. A total of 42 Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Friends of Rotary are assigned to various shifts every day of the week. Even more Rotary volunteers are on the waiting list for the time when more vaccines become available and the clinic hours are extended. Kingston Rotary is honoured to help support health services staff so they can focus on the... task at hand. The mood at the clinic is one of excitement and gratitude as Kingstonians welcome the opportunity to get the vaccine shot. Rotary’s contribution to this program is part of a wider COVID response task force organized by Kingston Rotarians to produce masks, provide funds and volunteers for various food providers in the city, and pack and deliver food to school children and their families in need. While our original Kingston Rotary Centennial plans certainly didn’t include a worldwide pandemic, we are people of action ready and willing to pivot step in where needed to help how we can. #ygkrotary #KingstonRotaryCentennial #vaccinatekfla #ServiceAboveSelf #KingstonRotary100

Happy #WorldRotaractWeek! Launched in 1968, #Rotaract (a portemanteau of the words ROTARy and ACTion) aimed at providing young people with opportunities for ser...vice. Initially for people between ages 18-30, today Rotaract is a membership type of #Rotary with no upper age limit, thus attracting both university students and young professionals.
