Here are some fire safety tips from our partners @NFPA to keep you safe in the kitchen. Remember to keep your cooking area clean, always attended and to use the lid to cover a grease fire in a pot or pan. For an oven fire, keep the oven door closed, leave the residence and call 911. Learn more at this link: https://youtu.be/Dm6UMPP2z8I #KFDSmart #firesafety #kitchensafety #safecooking
Do you sleep with your bedroom door closed? See the difference a closed door makes. Remember to test your smoke and co alarms monthly, replace batteries every 6 months and install new alarms every ten years. https://youtu.be/qKIxsAyREiU #KFDSmart #firesafety #CloseBeforeYouDoze
Over the past three days Kingsville Fire responded to five fires. As a reminder, ALL fires in Kingsville require permits. Even backyard fire pits and chimeneas require permits, please visit https://bit.ly/3vLMtQF to apply and learn more. #KFDSmart #firesafety
Kingsville Fire and @nfpacanada agree there is no debate about testing and checking your smoke and CO alarms. Replace your batteries when you change your clock and replace alarms every ten years. #KFDSmart #FireSafety #testyouralarm

Another stark reminder from our friends East Hartford Fire Department to "Close before you doze!" The fire did not spread into other apartments because of closed doors. Be sure to sleep with your bedroom doors closed. Test and check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms regularly, replace batteries every six months and alarms every ten years. #KFDSmart #firesafety #CloseBeforeYouDoze Underwriters Laboratories Fire Protection Department
Keep your home safe from Carbon Monoxide by clearing vents of gas fueled appliances. Clear vents and meters to allow proper venting of poisonous gas. Remember to change batteries every six months and replace your smoke and CO alarms every ten years. #KFDSmart #firesafety #wintersafety #COpoisoning
Remember to clear space around hydrants when shoveling today. Firefighters need at lease one metre (3 feet,) to properly dress and use a hydrant for emergency response. #KFDSmart #firesafety

Kingsville Fire had and extremely busy Labour Day responding to a capsized vessel and a house fire. Our personnel rescued 3 individuals from a capsized vessel early Monday morning September 7th, 2020. Our Water/Ice Rescue team deployed from the Kingsville Dock putting our training into practice and braving the elements. Two firefighters attempted a rescue from our marine unit, while one member swam to pull one victim to shore. Our marine unit was capsized by the wind and... a rogue wave. Thrown from the boat, banged up from waves and rocks both safely navigated back to shore on our overturned vessel. We are extremely proud to serve with this team and the brave individuals who entered the water. Thank you also to the Canadian Coast Guard, Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, C-Tow, O.P.P., Essex-Windsor EMS, Lasalle Police Dispatch and Leamington Fire. See more
