TBDHU strongly recommends that all residents avoid non-essential travel outside of Northwestern Ontario. If residents do travel for any reason, it is strongly r...ecommended that: They STAY HOME for 14 days upon returning, especially when returning from high risk areas; They carefully monitor themselves for symptoms during this time; If symptoms develop, they must immediately self-isolate and arrange to get tested, other people in the home should also self-isolate; They should not interact with others outside of their household. This include not having visitors in their home. To read the full media release on updated travel recommendations, check out https://www.tbdhu.com//protecting-thunder-bay-district-tra
We are proud to offer great opportunities like this for our students. Thank you Thunder Bay Police and Constables Patrick and Tonka for all the time you spend with us.
Just a reminder to all our families that midterm report cards are coming home today with all of our students. Here is a glimpse of some of our grade one envelopes where students wrote and celebrated their strengths so far! #LPStb
Our intermediate classes were back today working on their virtual projects with CAHEP. Today’s Speak Up project was a paper collage. #LPStb Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP)
In their art program our grade 5 class has been learning different techniques using watercolour pencils courtesy of CAHEP. They are ready to move on to creating their own watercolour piece now that they have practiced different techniques and we are SO EXCITED to see what they create!#LPStb
A big thanks to the CJ for sharing our project with CAHEP in their paper today! #LPStb
Our 6/7's are helping to promote awareness on the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women by adding to the Faceless doll project of @HammarskjoldP KZ lodge. Such an amazing opportunity for learning and action for our students. Our two other intermediate classes will be completing theirs next week. #LPStb
Just a friendly reminder about the proper way to wear face masks for all our students. Before you leave home, please check to ensure it fits properly and covers your nose. Also, don't forget that after each day, they should be washed to take away any germs, dirt or fluids etc. that might have gotten on them throughout the day. Although masks are required for our students in grades 4-8, as always we strongly encourage grades jk-3 to wear them as well.
These Kingsway gr 5s finished their wigwam making with Mr. Lentz today. During this process, they realized how hard it is to bend rectangular pieces around to make a conical structure. Lots of lessons taught by wigwas. #LPStb
Lakehead University’s Office of Indigenous Initiatives is offering a tutoring and mentorship program for students in grades 1-12 via a virtual after school program. Please see below for more information.
