Patina This trough style fire pit turned out great, and looks to be starting to rust over nicely! I've always liked the look of a top layer patina on carbon steel, and at the right thickness it shouldn't penetrate through the material for many years. The R cutout is custom for the owners, but these will be available with either a standard or personalized cutout. They could also be provided in a raw state as shown above, or coated. This was a Joint Project with some friends, for a friend. Said friend has a wood stove that kept melting it's baskets. We went up to 1/8" thickness on the material, formed it on a press brake, and welded the corners and rails on. Best of all it was coated in black cerakote to help protect against the heat and fire it'll be up against.
