Attention Blazers! This year the ADP students are once again spearheading a food drive for the South Shore Food Share, which serves the communities of Crapaud, Borden, Bedeque, and Kinkora. Farm Credit Canada has canceled their nationwide 'Drive Away Hunger' drive, so where will be a few changes this year. Were will not be collection bags this year so students are asked to bring in their food and place it in their grade's collection box. Instead of a Homeroom challenge, they ...have decided to host a grade-level challenge. Here are the following collection rooms: Grade 9 - Room 126 Grade 10 - Room 124 Grade 11 - Room 205 Grade 12 - Room 212 We will accept donations from October 5 - 9, and then we will let the food sit for the long weekend.

On September 30 of each year, the Government of Prince Edward Island observes Orange Shirt Day to raise awareness of the history of residential schools in Canada and to recognize and honour survivors and their families. We encourage all Blazers to wear an orange shirt this Wednesday to help support this worthy cause.

TERRY FOX RUN On Wednesday, September 30 (weather permitting) our school will be participating again in the Terry Fox event. Students have received pledge sheets and all donations will be forwarded by Student Council to the Terry Fox School Run. Students can also donate online at http://www.terryfox.ca/KinkoraRegionalHighSchool The student in the school who raises the most in pledge money will receive a $25 prize gift card. We’ve adjusted our event times and route map this year to respect physical distancing restrictions and to prevent student cohorts from mixing. We’ve all had loved ones impacted by cancer. KRHS Annual Frozen Pie Fundraiser - October 2nd to October 13th, 2020 Just in time to stock your freezer for the holidays, Kinkora Regional High School is once again holding our very popular frozen pie fundraiser from October 2nd to October 13th. All pies come frozen and ready to bake, with the exception of the pumpkin pie which is thaw and serve. To place an order, contact a KRHS student or call the school at 887-2424. ATTENTION BLAZER PARENTS!! KRHS will be having its first Parent Council (Home and School) meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00pm in the school library. Parent Council is an opportunity for parents and the school to meet and discuss any issues relevant to KRHS students' education. School staff provide information about upcoming events, act on feedback from the parent community, and work together as a partnership to provide opportunities for all students at KRHS.... Please note that this is NOT the "Meet the Teacher" night. We hope to see some new and familiar faces next Tuesday. Please note that all COVID-19 restrictions will be in place to ensure all participants' health and safety. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 902-887-2424 with any questions. Grade 9 parents and students: COVID prevented us from having our normal spring tour, but we would like to invite all our grade 9 students to an orientation BBQ at the school on Friday, September 4th from 12:00-1:00pm. Students can meet with staff, enjoy a few hotdogs, and then have a quick tour of the school. There has been some news today about a staggered start at some schools. KRHS will not be having a staggered start and all grade 9-12 students will begin school on Septem...ber 8th. We will be communicating with all students and parents before then, but I hope that most of our grade 9s will be able to join us on the 4th. Please reply to [email protected] to let us know if your grade 9 son/daughter will be able to make it. Please note that all safety precautions will be put in place to ensure physical distancing and please ensure that your child brings a mask.
