We are so excited to begin our Kinsella outreach program! We have decided to delay reopening. We have always said that the health and safety of our bingo community is of utmost importance. We will reopen as soon as we feel it is safe to do so. Finally!! AN UPDATE!! We had a bingo committee meeting this evening! We have decided that we are guardedly and tentatively planning to reopen bingo on September 7. We had hoped that we would be able to go ahead in August but the time and logistics of getting it going again has put the brakes on that plan. As far as the planned reopening, this date hinges on the advise and restrictions in place, at that time, if any, by Alberta Health Services. The health and well-being of our bingo community, volunteers and staff has and always will be our greatest concern. Please keep checking back on this page for any more updates.

As you are probably aware, Phase II of Alberta’s relaunch starts tomorrow, June 12, 2020. After much discussion and brainstorming, we have decided that, with all of the limitations and regulations set out by Alberta Health and the Province of Alberta, we will not reopen at this time. The health and safety of our bingo players, volunteers and staff is at the forefront of this decision. The distance that people travel to come to Kinsella and possibly be denied entry, is another of our great concerns. We would prefer to postpone bingo in Kinsella until such time that our valued bingo community faces less risk. Alberta has now declared a public health emergency on #COVID19AB. That means all events in the province larger than 50 people are CANCELLED, effective immediately. All public recreational facilities and private entertainment facilities, including gyms, swimming pools, arenas, science centres, museums, art galleries, community centres, children’s play centres, casinos, racing entertainment centres, bars, nightclubs, and bingo halls are CLOSED.... Sit-down restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, food courts and other food-serving facilities, including those with a minors-allowed liquor license, are limited to 50% capacity to a maximum of 50 people. Take-out, delivery or drive-through service is permitted. Licensed facilities will also be permitted to deliver liquor. We are also deploying an immediate $60 million to municipalities, charities, and non-profits to support their COVID-19 response - particularly to adult homeless shelters, women’s emergency shelters and the Family and Community Support Services program.
