Kinsmen Club Dover 03.02.2021

Posted by member JJ Rankin With a heavy heart I'm saddened to announce the sudden passing of long time Dover Kinsmen member Ken Verbeem , who passed away suddenly yesterday. Ken was not only one of the hardest working, and most dedicated members of our club, he was also one of the friendliest members too with a great sense of humor. To his loving wife Kim, as well as his family and his MANY loving friends, we at the Dover Kinsmen send you are heartfelt condolences in these very dark times. He will no doubt by missed terribly and he will never be forgotten. RIP Ken

POSTED BY JJ Ok so we were finally able to have a meeting tonight and I got the ok to let you all know a few things. We are still planning on having the Tractor Pull next year. As we ALL know this Covid situation changes everyday and at this point we don't even know if we'll be ALLOWED to have the Tractor pull. But as of now, we are looking into the possibility. And two, lots of changes with crowd capacity allotments has us thinking we're going to go down the avenue of a driv...e thru style Pickup/Delivery service for meals. We may even have a Rabbit or muskrat dinner as early November, with all meals being pick up or delivery. Stay tuned for details. Lastly, this pandemic has really hurt us all. We the Dover Kinsman are not immune to the financial impact. But fortunately with the help of very experienced and hard working leadership, we feel we can adapt to this crazy New world and still provide all of Dover and beyond a great meal, at a great price, to support a great cause. It was a somber meeting tonight, knowing that for now the hall will need to stay basically off limits for bookings or events, but Mr. Mike St. Pierre noticed this new plaque and asked I include it in this post. Seemed to be a fitting reminder that through ALL the uncertainty, through ALL the struggles that this Coronavirus has brought, we have too much history to just throw our hands up and give in. There IS a way we can continue to offer dinners, just a bit different, at least for now See more

Posted for Kinsmen Club by JJ With great sadness I've been asked to let you all know that the Tractor Pull in June has been canceled due to a variety of reasons. We are going to try to have a make up Tractor pull in the fall but certainly nothing set in stone as of now, but we will certainly let you know if and when we get a potential make up date. We really appreciate our MANY sponsors but realize asking for sponsorships in this tough economic climate wouldn't be fai...r at this time. Add in the social distancing regulations and we felt that attempting to have this pull in June would be foolish on all fronts. We thank you all for your support and understanding in all this and look forward to the day I can make a post on here with all our dinner rescheduling dates as well as hopefully a Tractor pull make up day when this Lockdown is lifted See more

Posted by J.J. Hello Folks, to no surprise I'm sure to anyone, I've been asked to announce next Friday's Marsh Beaver dinner has been officially postponed. But just like with the Good Friday dinner, please hang onto your tickets as we WILL be having a make up dinner in the summer months whenever this lockout is lifted. Those curious, no the Tractor Pull in June is not canceled as of yet, but expect a firm decision on that to be made soon and we will certainly let you all know the fate of Dover's "Biggest party of the Summer" when we get word ourselves
