Lunch!! I don’t eat a lot of meat, so I try to get enough protein from other foods. Jean McMahon grew these bean sprouts and I love them! Super crunchy, delicious and healthy! I’ve eaten a whole container today and for $5 you can’t beat that!!

Hey hey my Kintail Market friends!!! We now have Gillespies’ Gardens Sprouts!!! Let me tell you, these sprouts are fresh, crunchy, delicious and healthy!!! I eat a container a day, yep, a whole container in 1 day! I eat them on top of eggs, wrapped in ham or Turkey and as a topping on my salad. The seeds are completely edible so no cutting, just pull them out of the container, give them a rinse and eat them!!! I often eat them right from the container lol In the market fridge for $5 a container, yes, just $5 for a healthy delicious snack!!! Jean McMahon grows the best!!!

It’s dreary and rainy and damp, the perfect Monday lol Great day to get going on the muffins for our School Break Special!!! You can order ahead, or check out the market shed or come on up to the house if the supply is low!
Mullein flower and calendula tea tonight! Slow day here in the kitchen so I’m sipping on some tea Mullein is considered a weed, but has amazing health benefits for your lungs and immune system! When in full bloom we cut the long flower and some of the leaves to dry and make tinctures for the winter months. It’s also great on top of salads too. Slightly sweet all on its own!
I was craving cabbage rolls yesterday, but since it was elderberry syrup day, I ran out of time. However, this cabbage roll casserole satisfies that craving and was made with little time and effort! This is Paul’s sister Betty Davey’s recipe and one of our favourites Kintail cabbage, local ground beef, Kintail preserves tomatoes and sauce, some spices and rice! We use Laviva rice an organic shirataki oat fibre and you wouldn’t know it wasn’t ordinary rice! We have 1 left in the market freezer
Elderberry syrup!!! Honey, ginger and cinnamon!! We only have 4 jars left from today, but will be making more ! Wild elderberries untouched by chemicals, growing as Mother Nature intended on Paul’s brothers farm, the warming properties of ginger and cinnamon and the powerhouse of honey!! Tastes amazing!
New thing for me! I’m learning all about kombucha and how to make it! I love experimenting with fermentation but haven’t tried the kombucha so I’m super excited about this workshop!! If you’d like to learn along with me that would be super exciting too!!! This is the link for the group https://www.facebook.com/groups/504066200559318
2nd stage of wine making complete!! 2 weeks in the car boy and this Merlot will be ready to bottle!!
