While you are judging a match, knowing how to move and where to look can have a big impact on the outcome of a match. Chikamoto Takumi Sensei gives a few simple tips as to where to position your body to observe both the players and the other shimpan in the shiai, as well as how to move so that you don't miss any of the strikes from the players or calls from the other shimpan.

Sayu-men suburi can be difficult to do when you aren't sure if you are striking correctly. In this video, Chikamoto Takumi Sensei shows one simple trick to make sure you are doing your sayu-men suburi properly. Using the string of your shinai, after your strike if you can see an angle, you are doing it correctly. If your string is pointing upwards after your strike, you aren't rotating your wrists enough.
