BEFORE YOU MUTE please question your motives and search your heart. We have been told to stand up and speak out, even though we may not say the right thing, even though it may not be politically correct, speak anyway!! I have seen big influencers talk about how they werent sure if they were going to say anything because it was negative and made them uncomfortable.... you werent going to say anything?! Injustice makes my blood boil and I feel so guilty for only recently recognizing some of the things that have been going on around me in the world. But people of colour dont care if you feel guilty or uncomfortable. They want you to speak out. Muting, so you can step back and let others speak is letting racism continue. Please dont mute because it is a challenge or trendy right now or because you think you should. DO IT because you are actively taking steps to change and your energy is needed elsewhere. I will be muting my own shop-related content this week. You wont see my products on my feed or in my stories. You also wont see the conversations I will have with my kids. You may not see the changes that I am hopefully making for generations to come. MUTE but do the work, LISTEN, SPEAK out, TALK about it, READ, SHARE what you think needs to be shared, NOTICE who isnt saying anything right now. Do what your heart and your family need you to do.
