Worked on a well looked after Wurlitzer Spinet today. The pinblock was too weak to hold a tune so I treated it. Brought my tipper.
I guess they would need to be tuned...
Gotta get in there. Tightening action screws.
Piano Lifesaver systems installed on both these pianos keeps the humidity precise, stabilizing tunings and adding decades to the life of the instrument.
Beautifully restored Williams Upright. Very nice tone. Notice copper wound tri chords in the upper bass that aren’t typical.
Finally turned my old piano into a coffee bar. Editing to add a bit of info as it is getting shared a lot and I have gotten MANY private messages. I didn’t p...ull apart a functioning piano. The piano was beyond repair as the soundboard had multiple cracks. This piano belonged to a friends grandmother, she was the original owner until I purchased it. My oldest daughter learned on this piano and I was heartbroken that it couldn’t be fixed, but I also couldn’t part with it..that’s why I chose to repurpose it. It is my absolute favorite piece in my home. No I will not be selling it. Thanks for all the love. See more
Servicing your piano regularly should include cleaning. Top to bottom included soundboard and action on this Young Chang grand piano. Such a beautiful instrument!
Spent the morning servicing a nice little Kohler & Campbell. This is a drop action piano. Rather than the key pressing up on the hammer, it pulls it up. Due to this configuration, the action can be nestled further down in the piano. Sometimes referred to as an apartment size piano, they became popular in the 40’s as populations urbanized city centres. Also has a cool elephant on the action!
I have a sense of pride when I put my card up among other that have worked on instruments. The card on the right belongs to my mentor from Penticton. He tuned this piano when he lived in town in the late 1950’s before he moved out west.
