I am loving this Beaver doll in blue! @glshelley made it to match her husband’s favourite flannel jacket
Today is the last chance to sign up for Sampler Club and start with April’s Swan, and Dragonfly bonus pattern! www.kirikipress.com/products/sampler-club
Another pond creature, Dragonfly is the bonus pattern for the #SamplerClub Swan stitch sampler. I’m loving this detached fill for the transparent wings - it’s easier than you think! You have until April 12th to sign up and get this bonus pattern https://www.kirikipress.com/products/sampler-club
Listen up, especially if you're a craft vendor in Toronto or love to attend craft shows here. I've been in this business for over 8 years and have heard my share of horror stories and they are ALWAYS about the organizer of the Trinity Bellwoods Flea Market, Felicia Laplume. This market is right around the corner from me, but I was always put off by her controlling attitude toward vendors, narcissism and complete lack of professionalism. I've never personally been a vendor of ...hers but have listened to dozens upon dozens of accounts that clearly demonstrate a pattern of abuse that includes racism, ableism, bullying, transphobia and gaslighting. Despite this, people are afraid to speak out because Felicia threatens their livelihood (not that she wields that sort of power, but many new vendors are unaware that her behaviour is well-known amongst more established vendors and show organizers). The latest account by @inkbymi details how she was kicked out of the Trinity Bellwoods Flea Market after very politely asking that the organizers spell her name correctly. She was told that having an "uncommon" (i.e. Vietnamese) name wasn't their problem. See Mi's latest IGTV post for the full story. I feel like it's my responsibility to use this platform to speak out against someone who has repeatedly harmed small creative businesses in my beautiful and diverse community. @inkbymi is collecting stories from past vendors, so get in touch with her if you've suffered at the hands of Felicia. I will never attend any market that she organizes as a vendor or consumer, and encourage all of you to stop attending or applying. These are her other markets: The Bloor West Flea Market, The Eco Lifestyle Market, Team toronto Etsy Sellers
I’ve been reading a lot of fairy tales lately (because, toddler), so ponds & swans have been ever present imagery. I thought it would make a fantastic theme to create the next Sampler Club pattern which shows how to make backgrounds and foregrounds with simple, painterly stitches! I borrowed some tricks from Whitework embroidery (like relying heavily on textures) to make the nearly all-white swan pop. This sampler was full of pleasant surprises for me - like, I had no idea a ...couple tiny vertical stitches and a longer one would form such convincing cattails. And I’m swooning over this swan... they are such beautiful creatures and the Pistil stitch manages to capture the majestic ruffle of the feathers. The Wheat Ear stitch for the foxtails is one I'd never done before, and it's very easy and a total delight. The deadline to sign up for Sampler Club and start with the Swan Stitch Sampler is April 12th, stay tuned for the bonus pattern! See more

Here is my collaboration with @fionnahanna!! Fionna has been working on a wonderful series of children's clothing patterns (you can find both kits and PDFs). I thought the Easter Egg Bunnies would be the perfect way to utilize scraps and offcuts, and make an adorable matching bunny in the process! We've bundled together the PDFs as a single listing for 25% off for a limited time. https://www.kirikipress.com/collections/pdf-patterns
One of my favourite parts of being a maker is the awesome community I found (and the gifts we get to make for each other’s babies). I screen printed this Mama + Baby Robin set for @fitzydesign’s new baby boy
I love to see the colours combos you choose for your Easter Egg Bunnies PDF stitch & sew dolls! This is a super fun and easy sewing project that’s a great way to use those quilting fabric scraps you have stashed away! @nuvolina.handmade
Love this duo stitched up by @hipthreadsembroidery! So happy to hear how much fun Heather had stitching these two cuties!
Koala: simple, sweet (maybe my favourite Level 1 doll) @meaganberries
I can *almost* feel spring in the air (tbh, 7C feels like summer compared to the past month). And so my thoughts turn to old and new patterns... the retired one on the left and my @molliemakes cover gift design on the right. As promised, I’m working on the new version of Bunny which will be released this spring!
