Hi garden lovers! We’ve created a group for all our giant pumpkin growers to share tips and progress. If you’re taking part, please request to join and we’ll add you. Not growing, but keen to track our progress? Turn on notifications for this page since we’ll be sharing notable pumpkin updates here

Thanks very much to the amazing gardening team at the The First Unitarian Church of Hamilton for giving us a physically-distanced tour of their Carolinian Gardens last evening! The amount of effort involved in what they have accomplished in converting huge spaces of land back to native gardens (and which is still a work in process) is very impressive and inspiring. We’ll share details of volunteer gardening opportunities in these gardens in a future post.

Our friends at the Crown Point Garden Club have managed to move their seedling sale online this year (link in below post). Well done you guys! We were sad to have to cancel our own plant/seedling sale this year (it would have been tomorrow!) but we hope to be back next spring with an updated/safe sale format to share the plant love in the neighbourhood. Happy gardening!

With migrating birds stopping to rest and eat in our gardens on their way through our neighbourhoods, it’s a good time to keep in mind that we should do what we can to limit the number of birds dying from residential window collisions. Some great suggestions in this website on ways to make your windows more visible and other ways to decrease collisions. Website: https://birdsafe.ca/homes-safe-for-birds/... Facebook page:
