The role of an architect has transformed in the midst of evolving technologies. We have a responsibility to not only keep up with the changes, but to make sure our staff is well-educated. The more we learn, the better we can share our ideas with our valued clients and partner consultants. Efficient means of communication and collaboration with our internal and external teams are essential to successful project. We are extremely proud to have a strong BIM team to find resources, create learning material, and support our staff during these unprecedented times. Have any tips or tricks to share? We would love to hear from you!

As International Womens Day launches their #EachforEqual campaign this week, it is an opportune time to share the personal and professional achievements of our staff member Adrienne Lee. In the past 2 years she took on the role of a mother at home, a new Principal at our firm, and the challenges of balancing the hard work and joys of both. Adrienne holds a strong advocacy for design excellence from the earliest conceptual discussions onwards, ensuring that design rigour is ...maintained through all submission stages. Since joining Kirkor in 2011 as an Intern Architect, Adrienne has established a successful mediating manner that facilitates seamless coordination between clients, colleagues and municipalities. Her expert ability to move readily between high-level and detailed design considerations, coupled with a refined sensibility preferencing contextual simplicity, consistently produces unique and compelling work at all scales. Since joining Kirkor in 2010, Christina Lee has developed her expertise as a particularly detail-orientated architect. Christina leads many of the firms most complex projects, including joint ventures with partnering firms and international practices. Her particular skill for establishing strong relationships with clients and consultants, promotes unified team culture and facilitates the production of highly coordinated architectural documents. Christina believes passionatel...y that architecture founded on critical design thinking can bear enormous positive impact on its context and surroundings. She is currently working on the Royal Bayview, coordinating the design for two mid-rise towers detailed with vision glass, aluminum exterior mullion, soffit, precast concrete and a ceramic façade system. We partnered with Daniels and the Toronto Community Housing Corporation in their comprehensive approach to guide the revitalization process of the new Regent Park Neighbourhood now in its 13th active year of construction. Occupying the block between Sutton Avenue, Sackville Street, Shuter Street and the newly named Peaceful Way, we designed the Sutton Collection an exclusive set of townhomes and semi-detached homes. Adding to Regent Parks mid-rise environment, this project gave us the opportunity to create a contemporary building that is compatible with surrounding buildings from the past.
