Today, the Ontario government issued a province-wide, stay-at-home order, effective Thurs., Jan. 14, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. The order requires everyone to remain a...t home, except for essential purposes, such as accessing health care services or grocery shopping. There are no changes to rules around regulated health care professionals, such as chiropractors, registered massage therapists and physiotherapists. According to Ontario’s Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 (effective Jan. 11, 2021), businesses that can continue to remain open include: health care services provided by regulated health professionals (point #53); organizations that provide health care, including clinics and independent health facilities (point #55) and manufacturers, wholesalers and businesses that provide logistical support of or for products and/or services that support the delivery of health care in all locations (point #58). Patients and members of the public will be able to continue to visit their chiropractor during their regular hours of operation. And chiropractors will continue to comply with strict PPE and safety precautions to protect their patients and team members.

ALL SERVICES will remain open at KIROMEDICA Health Centre as we have been deemed an essential service during this latest lockdown. We will continue to adhere with our current policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 to provide you with a safe and healthy environment for your recovery. We are very excited to announce another recent addition to the KIROMEDICA family of health care professionals! Please help me in welcoming Dr. Ye Yin (Amanda) Rong to our team. Dr. Ye Yin (Amanda) Rong, BA(Hons.), DC Dr. Rong earned her undergraduate honours degree from Western University and continued ...her education to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). During her time at CMCC, she worked with patients with various musculoskeletal conditions both at St. Michael's Hospital and South Riverdale Community Health Centre. Some treatment interventions she may include in your treatment plan include: rehabilitation exercises, spinal and extremity manipulation/mobilization, acupuncture, deep tissue techniques, leukotape-k taping, lifestyle counseling, and ergonomic assessments. She is also Sigvaris certified to prescribe and fit compression socks and stockings. She believes that every patient is unique, and she will take the time to understand both the patient and their complaint. Each patient's uniqueness will be reflected in their treatment plan, based on their concerns and expectations. Dr. Rong is constantly expanding her knowledge and skill sets. She has sought out additional training to become a Registered Massage Therapist and Acupuncture provider, which she will offer at Kiromedica in the beginning of 2021. On her spare time, she enjoys staying active by playing racket sports, biking with her dog Clifford, and practicing hot yoga to unwind and stay injury free.

Hons), DC Dr. Barati graduated from the York University with a Bachelor of Science with specialized honours in Kinesiology. He continued his education at the Canadian Chiropractic College, where he earned his Doctor of Ch...iropractic degree in 2019. While at university, he became as certified personal trainer and received the Top Student Athlete Award and school honours during his undergraduate studies. As an elite soccer player, he has participated and won multiple championships in the Ontario Cup and Canadian Soccer League. Additionally, he has represented Ontario in the National Championships and now works directly with national and international soccer and futsal players. As a chiropractor, Dr. Barati uses a diversified technique in treating his patients. He is certified in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, custom orthotic therapy, medical compression therapy along with performing mobilizations and adjustments. It is this combination of skill, experience and the utilization of an evidence-based approach, that Dr. Barati uses to provide treatment to his patients.
