We recently moved from a new 2400 square foot home with four large bedrooms, modern finishes, 3 bathrooms, double garages, the list goes on... to a home built in the 1960s, 4 small bedrooms. 2 dated bathrooms and needs a renovation. With three young kids Im sure youre thinking why???? That gorgeous first home was squeezed tightly between two neighbours, on a postage stamp of a lot with large townhouses towering over the backyard. It was situated on the street that fed into ...the rest of the neighbourhood that people felt the need to use as a raceway. Our smaller home is on a court, with a very large lot, backing into a ravine with no direct neighbours peering in! When we had children our priorities drastically changed and we easily compromised the fancy finishes for a quiet safe street and room for them to play outside! We will eventually do a massive renovation but for now this works for us! What is the one must have in your next home?? See more
