Praying hard for one of my colony cats that looks like he's been kicked in the face. Very sad night. I've gotta get him no matter what. He tried to eat tonight but had a very hard time. Probably lost some teeth too. If in fact he was kicked and I've seen it before, and if I know who did it, I'd be in jail for the night gauranteed! Wish me tons of luck to trap him .

My university colony is turning into a cluster you know what up there . Friggin people everywhere, new construction, noisy trucks, cats are freaked out with all the noise while their territory again slowly shrinks. One of my 3 year long regulars has been awal for quite a while now. My male Ginger Willy, one of my favourite boys too. If it gets much worse there I'll seriously think about starving them to trap them and get them relocated to a barn program or something. It's ge...tting harder as time goes on with these guys. Thankfully the weather is easier for them all now. Although they feel safer in the dark I find, less visible. Days are noticeably longer now, so they need to adapt once again. I Wish all the humans would disappear there. Things never remain the way you always pray for. Hang tight kitties, will figure something out before it gets really bad there. See more

When I was to visit my Dad 2 years ago in NZ, yep they have feral cats as well. This guy came up to me out of nowhere, like he knew I was a cat guy or something. I made a long walk to a local grocery store, picked up some cat food and fed him the two days we were at this out of the way Motel. A group of people watched me looking after him and were saying ewwwww don't touch that thing! He's dirty and diseased! Four letter words I thought of but said nothing. Next morning he was outside my ground floor Motel room glass door looking in wondering when I'd come out to feed him. He got a big breakfast before my Dad and me continued on our way. I think about him at times hoping he's surviving OK. Any cat no matter where you are that's clearly on his own deserves a meal and some love and attention. God bless this guy

Today was shovel out shelters day. One location almost 4 shelters grouped together close to being buried alive by snow plows. A close call, very close call. All are well and shovelled out. Tonight at Laurier will be bad for sure. Shovel in the car to make them a feeding area. This weather sucks. Soon will be over hopefully so cats get a break. Toughest part of the year for them all. They are all showing up despite the lousy cold weather.

I'd say this was a bit of a horrible night to feed cats lol. They got their first blast of wind and snow. Where I fed here the wind north westerly only, howls between the buildings. Actually they didn't seem to mind too much. They are seasoned veterans. Shelters 10 of them at this site give them plenty of choice to hunker down. Warmer days ahead I'm hearing. Nite nite kitties. Y'all got Nancy Doucette freshly cut chicken tonight as well. Thanks Nancy for that.

Well my once a year feral food drive is officially over now. Just wanted to really thank all of those who donated for the cats. It really makes a big difference and I so appreciate it! The food goes fast like they just vacuum it up lol. But thank you again to everyone!! Enjoy the fall season while it's here. Winter I'm not a big fan of but will do all that I can to get all the cats through another one. They are tough cookies most of them and most are seasoned veterans. For some it will be their second winter while others have gone through 4 and are still around to tell me about it. They adapt and are smarter than we give them credit for. Hope every one had a good Thanksgiving! Later and stay tuned. Mark

These racoons were relentless tonight. I feed them away from the cats and then they don't like the food I give them (food the cats hate). So after the good cat food they go. The cats get freaked out and bolt. They are pure grief...... Then a skunk shows up lol and then all the racoons run for the hills! Thank you Mr. Smelly for allowing my cats to eat tonight. Are racoons anti-skunk? Well never saw them after smelly showed up. Hoping smelly comes tomorrow night and that the racoons are just going through a fatten up for winter phase then they'll leave me alone...... Hoping

My Feral food drive comes to an end next Saturday. So far it's been a success, but always need more. Keep it coming. Nancy Doucette just dropped up warm turkey for the cats which will go out tonight. Kitties need a Thanksgiving too. Thanks so much for any food donations wet or dry. It all goes fast. Winter they get more than usual to keep the calorie intake up for cold weather. Temptations, Party mix all good high calorie dry for them on top of other dry and wet foods. God bless all! Happy Thanksgiving!! Mark
