A growing network of Canadian organizations and professionals are exploring Social Acquisitions for Business Recovery (SABR), a strategy that sees conventional ...enterprises transition into social purpose enterprising forms (like a co-op, a social enterprise, a charity, a non-profit, or any combination of the same). Every month, we convene the network to do four things: connect, inform, collaborate, and learn. As L3 winds down its 18-month programming, we assembled people from the entire network to discuss community continuity, tested out some possible participatory budgeting opportunities and discussed what funding might sustain the project and the movement into the future. If you'd like participate on your own time in the breakout group discussion questions, you can access a post-workshop collaboration page here: https://docs.google.com//1mX2-UDJiYdfoseWPPwBkvq52E5/edit Important links discussed in the video: Native Land: http://native-land.ca Knowledge Products page: https://uwaterloo.ca//downloadable-and-shareable-learning- Brigitte Legault's email address: [email protected] Social Innovation Lab Guide: https://uwaterloo.ca//files/social_innovation_lab_guide.pdf Temporary link to join Slack: https://join.slack.com//shared_invite/zt-kl9hqrr7-jQWjWBJu Social acquisition cases & case resources: https://uwaterloo.ca/legacy/social-acquisition-case-studies LAUNCH information and registration: https://uwaterloo.ca/legacy-leaders/l3-launch-february-9-11 February Community event: https://uwaterloo.ca/legacy-l//l3-february-community-event Download the Continuity Report draft PART 1: https://uwaterloo.ca//l3_continuity_report_draft_part_1.pdf

This event is focused on people, families and organizations who want to learn more about out where your drinking water comes from, the threats to it, and how we can work together to protect it.

Congratulations to you, Water Watchers! Thanks to your support, Nestlé is pulling up stakes and leaving Canada for good. The battle has been long, but the last ...year held some exciting advances: #Nestlé’s Canadian operations are for sale as part of the divestment of their entire North American operation. (Nestlé announced a proposed sale to Ice River Springs in July of 2020, which fell-through in September.) Doug Ford’s government has proposed legislation that empowers municipalities to provide consent on permits to take water. These sudden developments are the fruit of many years of persistent advocacy by many groups and all their supporters - SaveOurWater.CA, The Council of Canadians and Environmental Defence Canada. #SayNOToNestle #WaterForLifeNorProfit #DecolonizeWater

"You’re invited to a very special event. New Green leader Annamie Paul is hosting a reunion featuring the candidates from the 2020 GPC leadership race this Giving Tuesday! You came to know the leadership candidates so well during the leadership race. Now, Annamie is bringing them together again for a special reunion to say thank you, and to help grow our Green Breakthrough Fund. At the end of 2019, members created a time capsule, sharing their hopes for the party and 2020. At the reunion, Annamie and the leadership candidates will open the time capsule and share your messages."

"There is an event organized by the families who have lost loved ones today calling for national standards in long-term care being held on the lawn of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Families and friends of the deceased will be laying out thousands of shoes on Parliament Hill to symbolize those who have been lost in long-term care. They called the event "Broken Hearts, Empty Shoes"." Ontario Health Coalition
