This pal is off on some new adventures for the summer and we’ll be saying goodbye to them soon Make sure to come by one afternoon this week to wish them luck! We’re so so incredibly blessed to have had Kat with us the last year and half. They’ve helped Kit become what I always dreamed of it becoming, and I am very proud of them.
It’s time for a break. We’re tired. Given the stay at home order issued today, KitCoffee will be closed for all service for the next 7 days, reopening next Thursday for takeout. Thank you to everyone for the support and continued patronage. We’re so blessed to know each of you. We’ll be back better than ever. ... Stay safe. Stay well. Stay home. Reopening for takeaway Thursday morning at 8am! We will move forward with curbside pickup/takeaway only for the foreseeable future, we will still be open every day 8-4. You can call us to order ahead of time (we suggest only using this for larger orders or food items as for hot drinks we don’t like to make too far in advance so that it’s the freshest possible for you). ... Can’t wait to see you all!

We have been luckier than most this year. Being small, we’ve surprisingly been able to operate close to normal a lot of the year. Kit totes now available for 12$!! These are a super sturdy natural canvas tote, I love the weight of them. Thanks to @alpineprintcompany for their great work despite challenges with getting stock in during covid. Be nice to you’re local small business owners, friends. They’re experiencing the natural dip in sales that happens every January on top of many new challenges that have popped up because of the pandemic with sourcing and shipping etc. These challenges are largely ...behind the scenes, so please remember to have grace for each other in these times. We’re all exhausted, overwhelmed and sad. Let’s be kind to each other and lift each other up. Recycled leather Cup cozy, java jacket by @jackalshide
Still here doing the things! We are in red zone, which allows us to seat 10 people (conveniently the number of seats we already have). Please read the signs. We appreciate it and are happy you still want to come spend time with us. Come for cookies, and bagels, and coffee and London fogs. Stay for smiles and chats and laughs and warmth.

Also we switched to all compostable cups and packaging (except for our freezer items). Your cup, sleeve, LID and pastry bags, napkins and sand which boxes as well as our nitrile gloves(!!!) are all compostable!

Here is a fun little story for you! I was born in Timmins, but grew up entirely in Vancouver B.C. When I moved back to Ontario 7 years ago I was able to reconnect with a lot of extended family. I learned that Bea @summerroadsflowerco Mom who taught at Trent while I was there was a dear friend of my late mom and that they were distantly related! (Still unsure of the exact connection there!) ... Recently I learned that Mark Hayhoe of @k2milling is a distant cousin of mine as well through my moms side (the hayhoes). It’s been amazing learning my family’s food legacy in this province, as my grandfather ran an ice cream company for many years in Toronto as well. So excited to announce we are now using @k2millings cold milled Ontario wheat flour in our scratch baking. Unbleached and untreated. Take a 2kg bag home for your bake at home needs for 14.50$! @ KitCoffee
It’s bread day! And like.... is it ever bread day, look at it all!!! 6$ a loaf, today and tomorrow! ... Also @wildflowerbakeryca is opening their shop in Havelock this weekend!!! Check out their page for updates!!
We are rolling out some pretty exciting things! But we also have some less exciting news too. KitCoffee (previously KitCafe) hasn’t raised prices since opening at the farmers market in 2018. We have also always offered tax inclusive pricing. Unfortunately this simply isn’t sustainable for us any longer (especially with the upgrades in compostable packaging) and starting this week we’ll be charging tax on top of our existing prices, as well as changing prices of some sele...ct items. However! In order to soften this blow to our loyal patrons and say thank you for your continued support we now have a loyalty card! Collect ten stamps from either drink purchases OR retail coffee and tea purchases (1 stamp every 10$ spent) and redeem your full card for any free drink. We love you #peterborough @ Downtown Peterborough
