Feb 26 Bass Lake
Bass lake yesterday If you havnt been, I rec taking the extra drive. Best lake snow south of orillia.
Hey gang! Just wanted to give ya a heads up! If you feel like snowkiting the Wasaga Beach shoreline, it is currently in fantastic condition. There’s a solid base 1’ deep, with mostly soft snow. My advice is to choose a beach area where the wind is directly onshore, parking is a little hard to find but it’s doable. Cheers
Anyone still looking for their board?

** Update ** Beach Area 6 - Wasaga Beach Swim buoys/kite channel markers have been installed. ... Kiteboard launch and rigging area is west of the restrooms. Please note that there is plenty of space to inflate and store kites in the green space south of the beach. It is recommended that the beach should be used only to launch and land kites. When entering the water, proceed to the upwind buoy, and commence waterstart from there. Avoid waterstart at downwind buoy, as this results in riding into the swim zone. Cheers and Thank You

** Update ** Fantastic News !!! Allenwood Beach - Wasaga Beach... REOPENED to Kitesurfing this summer. Backstory - Allenwood Beach has been the go to windsports launch for over 50 years. Last summer, windsports were banned for the first time, due to nesting piping plovers. The pair had their eggs predated, and they flew off in early July. The area remained closed for the rest of the summer. This spring we had epic sieches, and the birds did not nest at this location. Ontario Parks had originally decided to keep this area closed to windsports this summer. Fortunately, Parks management changed their mind. It is no secret that the local residents do not want kiters there. I commend the management at WBPP for allowing us the privilege of having a kite zone at this location this summer. One of the challenges we face this year at Wasaga Beach Provincial Parks is the 50% reduction of parking spaces. The Allenwood Beach kite launching and rigging area has been moved 100m west of the eastern most entrance (previous kite zone). It is now directly in front of the small restrooms. There is signage in place (see pics) As per my conversation with Parks management this morning, they explicitly said they do not want any confrontations, either kiter to kiter, kiter to beach goer and/or kiter to WBPP personnel. Kiteschools please note that teaching in WBPP is not permitted. Unfortunate as that is, the high water levels, and limited kite channel space are not conducive to developing beginner kite skills. We came very close to losing summer access to Allenwood, and I plead that kiters act in a responsible manner. Please practice proper kiteboarding etiquette, and above all, maintain a safe distance from swimmers, and do not ride in the swim area. Today is a great day, we have won our beach back, lets not jeopardize it. Cheers, and good winds.

*** Update *** No Kiteboarding in Wasaga Beach Provincial Park I just had a phone conversation with the assistant superintendent of WBPP. Currently, beach access is closed to everyone. No grey area here. He explicitly said no kiteboarding. ... When premier Ford announces that beaches are open, then we may gain access again, but there are no guarantees. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I will continue to communicate with WBPP and update this page. Thank you for your patience in this matter. Cheers
This sounds good!! Sports with individual competitors such as water sports, tennis, gymnastics and horse racing will be allowed to resume starting May 19. Swimming pools, however, will remain closed, and all water sports will be permitted only in outdoor bodies of water. https://www.theglobeandmail.com//article-many-ontario-bus/
Let your voice be heard, and comment on the news article that water sports should be exempted from the beach closure in Sauble Beach. https://www.owensoundsuntimes.com//moh-consults-mayors-may
**will work for beer** Todays repair is a stuck screw that spun the insert. Cut out the t-nut, extracted the broken screw, and reinstalled with a pre-preg carbon fibre patch. This board will live and ride again !!
Good news, bad news. From press release today Ford says his governments framework for how and when to reduce and remove various restrictions should be released in the next few days.... He would not give specifics, except to say that one of the first areas may be outdoor activities. Lake Michigan-Huron water levels are forecasted to rise another 13 by July. Todays storm surge has rendered kite spots in Wasaga and Sauble almost unusable. Pics are from today, thanks to Nancy Scardaoni Leliveld for the Sauble/Oliphant images.

Got about an hour of riding in today. Wind was light and the snow was too deep for the wind. Still got a couple jumps in, going downhill, too much fun. Lots of good memories riding here in the old days. Most of the roadside trees have been removed, road gap is more doable now. Samuel Medysky I have footy of you and Drinky hucking the road gap somewhere.

Nanox training wax - extra hard version: how to apply video, and test summary. The takeaway here is that this is most durable wax Ive ever used. Ive previously used many combinations of base prep, base hardener and glide waxes, and Nanox blows them all away. To sum it up, there are two reasons to use this. First is that Nanox is an all temperature wax, second is that it is to be removed immediately after ironing it in. (No cooling period required)... I rode this wax today for 2 hours (approx 50+km). 5-10 minutes into the session my board speed increased at least 25%. It felt like a rocket. That lasted for about 1.5 hrs. When I ended the sesh, my board was dry. Keep in mind that this was the first wax cycle that I applied to this board. And Im told subsequent wax cycles will increase durability. Bottom line, is that I havnt been this excited about a wax since betamix. Nanox is the future.
