Kitigan Zibi Police, has arrested two people responsible for the theft of the water bottles. This arrest was only made possible with one of the owners of the water bottle, who was able to take down the plate number, and was also able to set up a camera in order to have the proof. It is our understanding that multiple people had their water bottle stolen. But chose not to report it. We are asking people to call in and report that their water bottles have been stolen and to pr...ovide a statement, as this investigation is on going. Without statement we will not be able to properly investigate the theft, and will not be able to bring those responsible for the theft. The names of the people arrested and charged are Amy Moyer and Lee Lafrance, they are charged with one count each for theft under $5000. They were driving an older model Toyota Tercel blue in color, 2 door. If you catch someone trespassing on your property, please do not approach the suspects, as it maybe dangerous for yourself. just take as much information as possible such as description of the clothing, type of vehicle they are driving. Keep in mind it only water bottles, it not worth risking your life fighting for your water bottle, just let it go and with investigation we will catch the thief.

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 Dear Community Members: There are new checkpoints being set up by police within the Outaouais region. This is our region.... The Quebec government is restricting access and the leaving from the following regions of Quebec; 1. la région sociosanitaire de l’Outaouais; 2. les territoires des municipalités régionales de comté d’Antoine-Labelle et d’Argenteuil pour la région sociosanitaire des Laurentides; 3. les territoires d’Autray, de Joliette, de Matawinie et de Montcalm pour la région sociosanitaire de Lanaudière; 4. l’agglomération de La Tuque pour la région sociosanitaire de la Mauricie et Centre-du-Québec. These regions listed above are from Grand Remous to Montreal area and north of Three Rivers. The Surete du Quebec, Gatineau Police, and the MRC des Collin Police will be setting up road check points limiting access to those regions and people leaving from those regions. Our Region is now affected by these precautionary measures. Everyone must practice social distancing from one another. A minimum of 6 feet apart should be adhered too. The KZPD have noticed people riding in vehicles with more than 1 passenger. I have instructed my Officers to take down the names of all persons, and files will be submitted to the crown who do not adhere to social distancing. Please take this seriously. We have some reports of people crossing the lakes or rivers. Everyone should know that the ice is not very thick and it not safe enough to cross. If you decide to cross you are doing so at your own risk. If you fall through we will not be able to rescue you safely and water rescue is approx 45 minutes away. You will also be putting the rescuer at risk as well. So please do not go on the lakes and rivers. The weather is up and down. Gets cold and warm. We have not had and very cold weather to freeze the ice.
