With the rise of confirmed Covid-19 cases in our community we will be enforcing our previously established controls at the shelter. All visitors will be required to wear masks at all times and fill out our visitor screening questionaire. Everyone entering must sanitize their hands before entering or exiting the building. All visitors are required to maintain a 2 meter distance at all times and there is a limit as to how many will be permitted in the building at one time. The Humane Society has been running at full capacity since January well other shelters and rescues closed for intake. We have handled large numbers with a reduced staff for several months. Thankfully for the aid of rescues south bound we spent alot of time transfering to these amazing rescues that placed them into loving forever homes. The Humane Society continues to work hard assisting animals in need but have made the decision to reduce our capacity numbers to prevent staff burnout and allow us more hands on time with each of our intakes. For the moment, we will not be able to take any new animals. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Update Ryder has found his forever home Ryder is a 3 year old neutered male Korilean bear dog. He has alot of energy plays well with other dogs but not good with cats. He's eager to please and needs an active adult home

Casper is a 4 year old male Husky malamute x very friendly but high energy

Riley is a n/male approx 8 years of age lab pit x he is a sweet boy that requires an adult only home and would do better as the only dog

Makita is a 4 year old husky cross male he is a very high energy dog not good with cats and great with female or submissive male dogs. No cats

UPDATE. Luna has been placed Luna is a 4 year old Great Dane spayed female. She is good with kids and other dogs but would be beneficial to be with older kids and active adults. She is timid but warms up quickly

UPDATE Zara is in her foster/adopt home Zara a 4 to 5 year old spayed female we are looking for an active adult home preferably. Not good with cats but good with other dogs but can be doninant

Christina Howe I hope its ok to post here. Looking for exposure to a lot of people in hopes of finding our cat. His name is Bird. Hes an orange and white long haired tabby. His paws are white and his right one has an orange spot on it. He isnt wearing a collar. Hes 9 years old and very friendly. ... Hes been gone for the past 3-4 days from Carswell Street. Please, if you live in the area, would you kindly check your sheds or other areas a curious cat could become trapped? Please message me if you have seen him. Thank you so much.

Pet owners please keep your pets with you at all times and safely contained in your homes. We are receiving many reports of coyotes through town and witnesses have seen them make off with roaming pets.
