COVID-19 Impacts on Municipal Facilities in Kitimat June 8, 2020 The District of Kitimat continues to diligently monitor COVID-19 developments. As facilities be...gin to resume operations, proactive measures continue to be utilized to minimize potential transmission of COVID-19. Current impacts to municipal facility operations include: DISTRICT OF KITIMAT FACILITIES Recreation Facilities Riverlodge Recreation Center re-opens Monday, June 8th, 2020 at 6:00 am; For more information call Riverlodge at 250-632-8970. Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre remains closed and updates will be provided when available. Pool and arena inquiries can be directed to 250-632-8955. All memberships have been cancelled. Remaining value of membership will be honored as credit upon customer request. Alternatively, refunds will be provided by mail upon request. Municipal Office The municipal office is now open during regular hours but limited to processing bus passes, property tax payments, and home owner grants. For building, bylaw, planning and other matters, please continue to call the reception desk at 250-632-8900 and book an appointment with the appropriate person. Walk-in service for these matters will not be available. Public Works The Public Works facility is still closed to the general public, but otherwise operations continue as normal. Public Works related inquiries can be directed to 250-632-8930. Fire Hall The Fire Hall facility is closed to the public. Fire and Ambulance operations will continue as normal. Fire and Ambulance related inquiries can be directed to 250-632-8940 (non-emergency) or 9-1-1 (emergency). RCMP The RCMP detachment remains open. Some services may be restricted. Inquiries can be directed to 205-632-7111. OTHER SERVICES OPERATING OUT OF DISTRICT OF KITIMAT FACILITIES Kitimat Museum The museum is open limited hours of operation. For more information visit; www.kitimatmuseum.ca/ Kitimat Public Library The library is closed to the general public. Pick up and drop off arrangements can now be made by calling 250-632-8985. Visit www.kitimatlibrary.ca/ for more information. Kitimat Senior Centre The Senior Centre facility is operating by appointment. Please call 250-632-3475 for more information. Kitimat Youth Centre The Youth Centre is currently closed to the public. Check for re-opening information at www.facebook.com/kitimatyouth/ Kitimat Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Information Centre The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Information Centre is open to the public Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Kitimat Humane Society The Humane Society is closed to the general public. Adoption viewings are by appointment only. Dog control, reclaiming, surrenders, and emergency services are still available by contacting 250-632-7373 or 250-639-6297 (after-hours emergencies).
