New Emergency Alert System Voyent Alert We are switching providers for our community emergency notification system. Voyent Alert is a multi-purpose communication service consisting of: 1) Emergency Communications ... The primary purpose of the service is to provide emergency communications information. You will receive information during critical safety events such as extreme weather, fires, floods, water quality advisories, etc. 2) Non-Emergency Communications You can also register to receive non-emergency notifications from the District of Kitimat. By registering on the Voyent Alert app, you will be able to select what type of information you would like to receive including facility news, traffic impacts, and general information. If you are currently subscribed to our emergency alert system, you will automatically be subscribed to the new system and do not need to sign up again. Your personal information is protected and secure during this transition. To change your profile information or notification preferences, or to select non-emergency information, go to www.kitimat.ca/alerts or download the Voyent Alert app on Google Play or from Apple Store. New users can sign up at www.kitimat.ca/alerts or download the Voyent Alert app on Google Play or from Apple Store. Emergency notifications received on your phone will come from phone number 250-632-8540. For assistance setting up with Voyent Alert, call 250-632-8900 or email [email protected]. We will be conducting a test of our new community emergency notification system on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.

The Feminist Campaign School is accepting applications for the first cohort of participants. We need great candidates to run for elected seats in municipal elections across BC in 2022. This program ties strong progressive values with representation in order to make deep changes in the leadership of our communities. If you're underrepresented at local government tables - this can be based on gender, race, immigration status, class or socioeconomic status, disability, or something else entirely - please apply! We have two streams: one for campaign staff and another for people who want to be candidates. Scholarships are available!
