y'know, sometimes i hear public health topics being tackled on little old ckuw. Here's Cousin Kitty's contribution - a small practical thing from 4 years ago that's still a helpful read... https://imgur.com/gallery/IwDF7

And what did ol' Kits always tell ya? "Expect the unexpected, the usual unusual, sometimes this and sometimes that." And yes - that is NOT The Children's Hour on your radios this a.m. at 95.9 fm... Turns out it is Mud Puddle Radio - on the air again after all! hahaha (not me tho! a delightful encore pres. featuring Seanster & Li'l Jude) Have a great weekend, keep safe. <3

Congrats to Moe on 1200 editions of a great program! History lesson time: Before our Saturday jazz was 'on the Boulevard' with Moz, before it was 'at the Temple' with Kits, there was One Man by the name of Moe, and MY weekend jazz fix - for years and years - was One Man's Jazz on 95.9 - with Moe Hogue. So, today i am sharing this amazing news direct from MH with y'all ~ "...this particular show is like no other One Man's Jazz. It’s the 1200th edition of One Man’s Jazz sin...ce its initial broadcast back in 1999 at CKUW FM in Winnipeg (moved to taintradio.org in 2012). The mantra around here is, 'This show is about the music and the musicians who make it.' Nothing else. So to follow that path, I decided to turn to musicians who have graced the show with their musical creativity and ask them to contribute something to the festivities. I gave them carte blanche: select a favourite tune, an unreleased tune, something that influenced them, and so on. There’s even one that was written just for the occasion! It’s been an honour to play their music over the years, and play it for you the listener. I hope you enjoy this most different, but special, One Man’s Jazz. AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! (and kudos to CKUW and Taint Radio for letting me play!) https://www.mixcloud.com//one-mans-jazz-ep-1200-celebrati/ See more

This is Remembrance Day in Canada. Today CKUW will pause to observe two minutes of silence, at 11 cst, the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, to remember the war dead, and the patriotic Canadians who sacrificed life and limb in the service of their nation. The radio play Letters, recently revised by the author, will be broadcast today. Details:https://ckuw.ca//e/letters-a-radio-play-by-brian-langholtz Plus, here's a song:https://youtu.be/3f419NlKx7I highly expressive version, includes daughter of Charlie Haden, Petra.
