And we are back! Artistic Director Martin Vallée held a socially-distanced meeting with company dancers - on-screen and in-person - this past weekend to discuss our upcoming season and prepare for their return to rehearsal. We have three new dance works in the creation phase, which we can't wait to premiere on stages in the next few months.

The lockdown caused by the global pandemic has meant different things to different people. We've called on a diversity of community members, both locally and abroad, to share their experiences during isolation in order to inspire the creation of Alone Together. For a window into the creation process for this new piece, tune in to the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council "Art in the Time of COVID" series on Monday, Dec 7 @ 7:00 PM. Link to follow. Here's a peek at some more... workshopping with Hannah Drover. Very grateful to TD for sponsorship of this community collaboration and for the partnership with DanceNL. #ArtsNL #DanceNL #TDCanadaTrust #NLarts

We've been quiet here lately because behind the scenes we've been very busy getting ready for two exciting projects in December. The first of these is an event in Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council "Art in the Time of Covid" series. This year, we've seen people all over the world innovate ways of finding togetherness, even while apart. Artistic Director, Martin Vallee has been creating a new dance work with this theme, titled Alone Together. ... On December 7, at 7 pm ArtsNL will stream a video of his creation process, building the new piece with company dancers. Here's a sneak peek of some recent workshopping with Steph Campbell.
