I know we're considered "cat" people but we're actually "species neutral". Please help if you're able.
We're approaching this time of year once again!
As suspected...some of our clients are missing us too - this dynamic duo are packing their own bag in hopes of a stay at the Inn! One day soon Zeb & Ellie Mae...one day soon...
Happy March everyone! We're missing our clients terribly...4 legged and 2 legged. May our doors be open more often than closed very, very soon. Stay well - we're looking soooo forward to seeing you all again...
My cat is vomiting...what do I do? Cats vomit for a number of reasons. Illness ( long term or acute), stress, hairballs, new food and eating things that aren't... meant to be eaten (as well as many other factors) can all cause vomiting. So when should you see a veterinarian? Cats kind of vomit three ways ...occasionally, acutely and chronically. Occasional vomiting often resolves on it's own with no long term effects. For example, sometimes your cat might eat his supper really fast and end up vomiting. It doesn't repeat itself and he seems fine otherwise. This is often something that can be resolved simply with a change of habits ( splitting the meal into two to make him slow down, for example). Acute vomiting is when your cat starts vomiting and continues to do so. Often your cat will suddenly seem unwell in other ways and it is obvious something is wrong. This requires immediate veterinary care. Chronic vomiting can be a trickier. With long term or chronic vomiting, the signs that something is wrong can be a little more subtle and might only become apparent over time. The vomiting may start off as an occasional event that slowly increases in frequency. Owners sometimes do not notice differences in their cat's demeanor and appearance because the vomiting and associated changes gradually becomes an accepted part of the cat's behaviour. Chronic vomiting can be caused by any number of serious health issues, so veterinary care should be sought as soon as you realize there is a problem. All of these scenarios will have different solutions, so as always - if you are concerned about your pet, call your family veterinary team or the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic for advice. . . #metroanimalemergencyclinic #emergencyveterinarymedicine #cats
