Grant Applications and Kiwanis 8 Pack! We are opening up grant applications! You must submit your application by Wednesday, April 14th. Successful applicants will be notified by May 28th, 2021. The Kiwanis Club of Prince George awards funding in two broad categories: 1) Creating equitable access to experiences for children / youth, with priorities to overcome socioeconomic or other barriers, and to support existing programs, services and/or infrastructure in Prince George (u...p to $5000) 2) Capital Projects (Up to $20,000) Please take note of the funding criteria prior to completing the application form. For a copy of the application please email [email protected]. The results are in! Between donations to the Ronald McDonald House and the purchase of the Kiwanis 8 Pack we raised $13,500 for kids! As a club we want to thank you all for the support of the 8 pack this year. We are excited to be able to host AleFest again in the future and are hopeful that will be in 2022. Kiwanis is actively looking for new members that want to participate in fun events, informative meetings and helping plan one of the coolest events of the year. We are working professionals who work towards making the world a better place for children, while having fun! If you think Kiwanis would be a good fit for you or have any questions, please do reach out. We would love to talk with you! We also wanted to give a bit of an insight on what it takes to host these events! 1. AleFest we start planning in August. That means 6 months of every year we plan, and plan hard, to host the three AleFest tasting sessions, Brewmaster Dinners and Cask Weekend. 2. The Kiwanis 8 Pack took a total of 10 months to plan. 3. It takes MANY volunteers to make these events happen. Doesn't matter if it's a box of beer or AleFest weekend, it takes many, many people to make it all come together. Some roles are larger, some smaller but they are all critical to our success! 4. It takes the partnership of the breweries to make this happen. We ask A LOT of them. They are always eager to jump in and make these wild dreams of ours come true. Seriously though, if you know a brewer/brewery owner, or meet one, give them a high five (maybe fist bump due to COVID) on our behalf. 5. It also takes the support of the restaurants, media, Tourism Prince George and BC Ale Trail. Each of these play integral roles in our success. 6. Easily between all of the volunteers, hundreds of hours of volunteer work goes into each event. Hundreds. 7. We do this because we want to provide an amazing experience for those who participate. We talk through every single minute of AleFest weekend from start to finish and try to find any way we can to make it better. Same goes with the Kiwanis AleFest 8 Pack. 8. We are passionate about raising money for children. We support many different children charities that support kids in many different ways. Kids NEED Kiwanis.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will be cancelling Kiwanis Alefest 2021. Due to the current pandemic unfortunately we are not able to safely host our event while adhering to the provincial guidelines and keeping our community safe. We thank everyone for your support, we are very hopeful that Kiwanis Alefest will be back in January 2022! P.S. We are working on some exciting things to get you through this year.
