On behalf of The Kiwanis Club of Kamloops, secretary Roger Parkes was very pleased to present a cheque in the amount of $3057.16 to the BIG Little Science Centre executive director, Gord Stewart. These funds were raised at our weekly Meat Draw & 50/50 held at Bailey's Pub in Oct/Nov 2020 prior to the COVID pandemic restrictions. The Kiwanis Club of Kamloops is looking forward to being able to hold the Meat Draw and 50/50 again when the COVID numbers are greatly reduced and the health orders are lifted.

Looking forward to our Zoom meeting tonight and welcoming some possible new members!!

Kiwanis Super Reader/Super Lecteur Program Kiwanis Club of Kamloops president Barry Baskin was pleased to present a cheque of $800.00 to Michelle Cauchon, Librarian at Ecole Lloyd George Elementary on Wednesday Feb 3, 2021 for the Super Reader program. This is a program to encourage children to read for pleasure by challenging them to read for 15 minutes per day for 100 days. These funds were raised through the Kiwanis Club of Kamloops Purdy’s chocolate sales prior to last Christmas. We have a current Purdy’s Chocolates sales program for Easter chocolates. Peter made it! Here is a wee note we got from him yesterday after his camp out. "Peter survived the night; camp worked - quite cozy. Got some sleep. I am lucky; I played camp-out; some actually live this as a reality. Thank-you all for being there with donations and moral support. ... There were little white things falling from the sky upon awakening this morning; I got to go in for hot coffee, unfortunately, not everyone has this option. So far raised $1,200 in pledges. Will collect donations until year end. We can make a Kiwanis donation in support of Katherine's program and legacy. I may have a nap later." Cheers, Peter

Great activity for Halloween this year.

Bailey's Pub graciously welcomes us every Sunday afternoon to do our meat draw. Kiwanis member Al Bancroft works tirelessly to pull this amazing fundraiser together each week with the help of other volunteers. Here, Al is pictured presenting the proceeds from the last 2 Meat Draw Licenses to People In Motion and BIG Little Science Centre. None of this would happen with out the incredibly generous support each week from the amazing patrons of Bailey's Pub!! There generosity is absolutely astounding!!!
