Family/Social Visits: Kiwanis Garden Manor Visitor Protocol July 13, 2020 Outside courtyard visits only at this time. Visiting hours 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.... Visits are required to be scheduled. Contact Jenni @ 604 485 5210 ext. 231 to pre-arrange visiting time slot. 1 designated visitor per tenant. All visitors are required to sign the Visitors Log. All visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of illness, including COVID-19, prior to every visit: Do not go into the courtyard until you have signed the visitors log and have been screened for any symptoms. Visits will not be permitted if you have been told to self-isolate. Visits will not be permitted if the visitor or tenant is sick or has symptoms of COVID-19. Visitors are required to bring and wear a mask. Visitors to use hand sanitizer provided. Visitors should maintain a distance of two arm lengths from others. Visits are not allowed if there is an active COVID-19 outbreak at the residence. We are on the look-out for some cotton yarn for one of our seniors who loves to knit! She likes to knit dish clothes. If anyone would like to donate some cotton yarn, it would be really appreciated!
With Hand Sanitizer being virtually impossible to source these days, we received a very generous donation of alcohol based hand rub that is being made on Vancouver Island by Wayward Distillery. Thank you so much to Dave and his team at Wayward for making this. And a huge thank you to Leslie and Roberto Dizazzo for this wonderful donation. We are doing our absolute best to keep our seniors safe and healthy, thank you! <3
We are hiring: Position available: Full Time Overnight Personal Care Worker. Wage rate: $22.38 - $24.47 RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports tenants according to the personal service plan. Assists tenants with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting and mobility assistance. ... Bed changes and laundering of tenants flat linens. Laundering of tenant’s personal laundry as assigned. Provide medication administration in accordance with established policies. Completes and maintains records and documentation related to Assisted Living. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation. Indoor Visits Starting October 1st, 2020 we will be permitting indoor visits for tenants and their one designated visitor. Visits can still take place in the courtyard weather permitting. Indoor visits will take place in our 3rd floor meeting room. There will be maximum of 4 visitors per day. Visitors will still be required to wear the mask we provide and the meeting room will be sanitized after each visit. Visits are required to be scheduled, please call 604 485 5210 ext. 221. This line will only be monitored during office hours, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. We can also facilitate Zoom meetings with family/friends who are not the designated visitor, please call the same number to arrange.
In effect starting today, March 17, 2020, Kiwanis Garden Manor Assisted Living has a Visitor Access Restriction in place. Only 'essential visitors' ie. those assisting with health care are permitted into the building. Family members can arrange for supplies or comfort items to be dropped-off during our business hours (Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm) or by calling 604-485-5210.
