Miss seeing these otters with the zoo closed. It was one of the great things of our location because it was on the otter side of the walkway

The playground at Riverview Park and Zoo is set to open as of tomorrow, July 22, while the zoo itself remains closed. Please remember playground equipment is no...t sanitized regularly, take all garbage and recycling you generate home with you, and washroom facilities remain closed. Please plan accordingly and help keep the park clean. A special thanks to our volunteer team for your help removing invasive plant species from the grounds in preparation. See more

It is National Zookeeper Week and the Kiwanis Ptbo Snack Bar would like to Thank the Riverview Park & Zoo for all their hard work they do looking after our zoo and all the animals on it. They do a great job keeping all our animals safe and well looked after especially during this difficult time of the pandemic. Thank you for keeping us and the animal's safe.

It still looks like we won't be opening this summer. We miss you but we need all our staff and guests to be safe!

Sorry, everyone, the snack bar will not be opening during stage 2. The Peterborough Utilities are keeping the zoo closed for the safety of the animals, workers and guests. Please stay safe and take care.

What one would you have had if we were open this weekend

What were you looking forward to having from the snack bar this weekend if we were able to be opened?

Well, friends, the snack bar at the Riverview Park and Zoo should have been opening this weekend however due to restrictions we are not able to open safely. So we wait until we can keep the zoo animals, the zoo staff and the staff at the booth as well as our guests safe. We will miss you and look forward to seeing you again hopefully soon. Please stay safe keep well!

Spring is in the air and with that comes the arrival of new little faces at the zoo! This wallaby joey was spotted poking its head out to soak up the sun As ...soon as a wallaby is born, it travels to the mothers pouch where it will spend the next two months developing. At around six months the joey will begin exploring the outside world, while keeping a close eye on mom and using her pouch for protection.
