The best thing about being a Kiwanian is never having to worry about running out of announcements of service helping kids! Secretary Carla advises that Kiwanis Club of Victoria recently donated $500 to Kiwanis Foundation of Canada as part of the Claremont Key Club matching scholarship program. The end-of-year scholarship normally goes to an outstanding Key Club member who best epitomizes the Kiwanis spirit! It's that time of year! The time to appreciate all we have; to look back at the great times we had and forward to new experiences to come; to think of those we knew and those we know. What we've done, and what we still have to do. So many, many things to celebrate, even in this worst of years. Secretary Carla writes to advise club members of another sad event, the passing of long-time member Ray Goldsworthy, at the age of 85. Ray was a 52 year member, from 1966 to 2018. Carla notes he was an active volunteer in the club for decades, particularly with the Christmas party and the annual student recognition luncheon, though with many other contributions to his credit too over the years, I'm sure. For me, I'll always remember Ray as a happy individual, with a big and r...eady smile, that just lit up a person's day to see. That was truly a rare and wonderful gift. I think I can say for those who knew him, that he will be sorely missed by all. So sad.
