Nightsite on my phone seems to be working well!! I take comfort in these munchkins sleeping in the potty area... Does that mean that we keep it super clean (as much as possible) or have they just given up? ... I will take it that it is super clean...lol I just hope the two sleeping beauties don't end up peed on or worse!

Yesterday was an emotional day with 3 puppies going to their families. I am so happy to report that Gouda, Brie and Gru are doing fantastic and seem to be just so happy! I think that means we have done our job well!!

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the lack of pics and videos ... The 12 hours of driving on Saturday was exhausting but them we managed to get our covid shots yesterday from the drive through clinic here in Saskatoon and that wiped me out further. Now, just as I was getting ready to go down and take a few videos of our little munchkins, the power went out!! ... Here's hoping it's the neighbourhood and not that Manya forgot to pay the power bill!!

Non CKC registered breeder who obviously doesn't genetically test for a known issue. . . and then hands the puppies to a shelter knowing that they will eventually die... heart breaking. I looked up how many Golden breeders there are in BC, Alberta and SK.... over 50 registered breeders. I am at a loss why someone would buy from an unregistered breeder when there are so many available?!?https://www.cheknews.ca/complaints-cedar-bc-breeder-709435/

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to post that Chilli passed her heart OFA testing and we have submitted the thyroid blood draw for testing!! Saskatchewan no longer has a veterinary neurologist so we are unable to test hearing (we never tested Coco or Portia but some applicants have asked) CERF eye exams are suspended here while they catch up on surgeries so testing will not be available until after January or February. I am confident that we have done the most relevant testing t...o confidently move forward immediately after receiving her thyroid exam results. Last week was crazy with getting the kids to school etc so please be patient while we get our schedules back on track. Thanks!!

Time to sound a little ...female dog like ... If you email and request an application, fill out the application and send it back. ... It is the only way you will make it to the interview process as I have recieved over 200 requests for puppies since February... The only way I reopen your email is with a completed application. This is the first step to our relationship with you. ... The email to send or request an application is [email protected] Thanks Manya

So many questions coming in! I am so sorry that I am so slow to answer and sometimes completely flake... lol... Today I would like to post some of the costs that are associated with breeding so that some of you can maybe appreciate the reason for the higher costs of a health tested, well bred puppy. This applies pretty much to all breeds and you should be suspicious if you are being offered a puppy at a lower cost than what the 'going rate' is. Health Testing quotes I have ...received have been in the $4500 range by the time they are complete... many of the tests are sent to the US and that increases the costs. Progesterone tests to find the optimal days to breed - close to $200 each and we have been averaging 5-6 tests per attempted breeding (which, by the way, is not always successful) Male contribution - this can range but I am going to tell you that it is HUGE... average is usually the cost of at least one puppy. PLUS shipping overnight temperature regulated container. Breeding- last Vet insemination was $1500 Emergency C-section - $1700 we have experienced 2- and our dogs always seem to 'decide' to give birth on long weekends when the options are limited. (we are so lucky... not) Puppy Vet care / first set of shots and check ups average $100 per puppy Aprox. 1 month leave from work to sleep / eat/ live next to the whelping box / pen for the first 4 weeks. Doesn't this just sound like fun? ...lol Breeding is not inexpensive but we are so proud of the puppies we have bred and the happy posts we receive from our puppy people. We feel that raising the puppies we have, has enriched our lives and given us a pride you can not replicate anywhere. Our children love helping the puppies learn as they grow and they are also proud of the work they have done to 'train' the little monsters. There is no way I could breed full time... I think I would go insane. It is so draining (picture those first months of new parenthood) As chance would have it, Portia was unable to continue breeding after her whelping so it has been a while since our last litter but that will make us appreciate it all the more. Thanks for listening! Manya
