Boy it feels like we did a COVID post just the other day... Starting tomorrow (Thursday, April 8), Ontario will be under a Stay at Home Order. This means we all non-essential businesses (like yours truly) will not be allowed to let customers into the store.... We've done this a couple of times and we're getting pretty good at it though! Well... here we go again, hopefully this is the last lockdown and things can begin to return to normal as the year progresses. The Ontario Government has announced a province wide shutdown starting Saturday, April 4th. We are a non essential business, which means we will be able to open at 25% capacity - this works out to 8 people including our staff. We will continue to offer curbside service, local delivery, and worldwide shipping with Canada Post and UPS. ... We have a couple of exciting announcements this week. First up, we are re-opening the store on Thursday, March 4! We really appreciated the kind words we received following our announcement to stay closed after the Stay at Home Order ended, but with cases still quite low in Guelph we have decided to re-open to the public. Hello everyone! As I am sure you have heard, the Ontario government is in the process of beginning to re-open the province. Starting the day after Family Day (Feb 16) retail shops, among other businesses will be allowed to re-open in some capacity. The staff at KJ have discussed the merits of re-opening, and we have decided to delay re-opening our store until at least March 1st. We’re concerned about the safety of our staff and the higher risk demographics that we serve. We ...want to see how the next couple of weeks go, especially with the new variants beginning to spread. We may yet delay our re-opening past March 1st and will update our status accordingly. We will continue to be open for curb-side pickup, local delivery, and worldwide delivery through Canada Post! It's every retail persons favourite time of the year again! INVENTORY... DUN DUN DUN. On Monday, Jan 4th we get to count every last stainless steel tee, each cork, and weigh every ounce of hops. We're very excited... But to make this process a bit easier, we're going to shut down our entire retail operation on Monday. This includes both online sales as well as ones over the phone. 2020 Juice Update! We were expecting the juice to arrive this week, unfortunately there have been shipping delays in Montreal and we are now expecting the juice to arrive next week (November 30 -Dec 4). All wines made on site will be ready sometime between January 13-20, and the juices for home winemakers will be ready to be picked up as soon as we unload the trucks. New month new beer! This time it's a Red IPA! Made exclusively with Red X Malt, Pink Boots hops and Hornindal Kveik yeast. We're calling it Pink October. Why? Well... Pink Boots is a hop blend made by the Pink Boots Society who support women working in the brewing profession. $3 per pound sold is donated to the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund.... Also, October is breast cancer awareness month. As part of that, we will be donating all net proceeds from sales of Pink October to the Canadian Cancer Society. Now for the beer! We're pretty stoked for this one. It's a fantastic balance of rich malt and tropical fruit from the hops. We're loving the combination of maltiness, hopiness, and fruitiness.
